Dr. Kay Marie Shawchuck

The office staff is not honest. I was told that they would research a billing issue and they never did. I was not informed about the cost of a procedure which I wasn’t able to pay and they were not helpful at all. I would never recommend this office due to the staff.

I was so afraid to have a mastectomy that I spent a year looking for a surgeon I truly trusted to treat stage three cancer. Dr. Shawchuck probably saved my life. She spent hours after work doing research to determine whether a surgical innovation was possible for me because she knew I was terrified of being disfigured. Dr. Shawchuck did such a good job on me I actually like my breasts more now and I feel like more and not less of a woman. I trust Dr. Shawchuck with my life. She’s a wizard of a surgeon, she’s funny and she truly cares. Your worst experiences in life can lead you to your best and that is certainly true with doctors like her. She was able to do innovative work that others told me wasn’t possible and I am eternally grateful to her. She is what all doctors should be. ??

I received recent care from Dr. Shawchuk,MD and want to say what a positive experience it was. Starting with the atmosphere of the waiting room which was very welcoming and positive. The office staff very eager to answer any questions and prepare the patient for the upcoming time with the doctor and her assistants. I felt a very cordial welcome and explanation of what was to happen. The doctor herself could not have been more ready to answer questions and to make me feel as comfortable as possible. When dealing with breast cancer I was apprehensive of course and feel that the doctor was approaching it with energy and knowhow that put my fears at rest. The whole experience and resulting surgery made me feel I was working with a group of medical professionals who wanted the best results possible. This initial impression was borne out in the followup visit, the hospital experience itself and the explanations of what was to come. When being examined by Dr Kay and Her Husband they did not wash there hands before touching my wife and I, Also when I had a question on what I was to be charged the person in billing made a "what ever" commet to me, that's when we decided to go else where
