Dr. Kenneth Ray Mauer, MD

I have been trying to get a refill for my humira 40mg for over 1 month. I have Crohn's disease and am trying to put off a major resection. Accredo is my pharmacy and they haven't heard back from this office and pauline in partricular, to get my renewal-for 30 days now. I called the office yesterday and today and know that pauline was there and she promised to call back. No return call. If you're searching for a new gastroenterologist remember that sometimes their office plays a key role in your decision. We are in a pandemic and our health issues are magnified-this is just ridiculous. Turn the page and find a new gastro-this one doesn't have the heart to help. Ultimately, these issues come back to his responsibility.

Although hesitant at first about going, I've now had 3 procedures performed by Dr. Mauer. He made me comfortable, took time to explain my medical situation, & followed up with me. His staff was kind, friendly, & caring. He's now one of my favorite drs, no longer nervous about procedures. Highly recommend him to my family & friends!

Went in for a colonscopy. Met Dr Maure in the procedure room for all of about 2 minutes, It was more about the instruments than the patient. Lights went out and woke up in recovery.. A quick sip of soda and the big push to get you out the door. Nurse in recovery told me I had numerous polyps that were addressed and to call in two weeks (found out they were non-cancerous) I could wait around for DR Mauer if I wanted as at some time he might come into recovery. Staff really wanted me out.. guess so the bed would be ready for next. Yes got the rush even recovering from anesthesia and still buzz'ed I was encouraged to vacate. Would have loved to talk to the doctor as to how many and what was his opinion.. no luck.. just spent the next week wondering if I had cancer. I am sure the care is good and Dr Maure is good, but its a factory.. basically next with no bedside caring. Bill for about an hour was close to $8,000 .. guess I was just expecting a little more......glad it was a… good visit, just be aware what you might encounter.

I had a procedure done 5 years ago and two done this year (2017). In each and every case I found Dr. Mauer knowledgeable, courteous and answered all my questions, both after the procedures and in follow-up visits. Both the assisting and office staff were very helpful and easy to interact with. I have been very satisfied.

I've known Dr. Ken Mauer for years. He's a very fine physician in a very busy practice. To say he hasn't a "good bedside manner" is just plain nonsense. I'm not sure what folks expect for attentiveness, but I've never felt brushed off or hurried along. He's available to answer questions, to discuss protocols and hand-hold when necessary. I highly recommend Dr. Mauer. His staff keeps a very busy practice moving along efficiently. They manage one of the busiest practices in Fairfield County, yet they still do their best to make folks comfortable while they deal with the paperwork, the appointments and the telephone lines that are very busy.

I don't understand the reviews that state Dr. Maurer doesn't spend time with you. He spent close to an hour with me reviewing the blood tests, and diagnostic tests that I brought with me to the appointment. I was very impressed with his ability to listen and give advice.

He is dismissive and rushes you out of office. Seems to show little interest in his work. I think he is bored and burnt out. Should retire before making another dreadful error.

Sent pathology to out of network provider (himself) rather than giving me an option.

Agree with others, competent doctor, but don't expect to ask questions or get explanations on course of action. He is so good, he doesn't need to be bothered with your input.
