I had a severe disc herniation could not sit. My legs would go numb and the pain was excruciating! Dr. Rieger is great surgeon! Saved me! 2 weeks after surgery, I can sit, walk, and the pain is gone! Things you take for granted in life. 5 stars for this gentleman! Thank you

Dishonest, lazy physician who sneaks in codes with higher payouts, committing insurance fraud as a matter of course. My husband was seen for no more than a few minutes, and no history was taken or exam done. No scripts written for PT. He was told to come back in a week if his back pain hadn't improved. This is a clear 99201 office visit code that should warrant the lowest charge for a visit (though the visit didn't even meet these basic requirements), and yet he was charged for a mid-level visit, 99203, which should have required a full history, comprehensive exam, coordination with other physicians, etc. Doctor/office refused to change code. Insurance co lets them get away with it, so don't expect them to protect you from overcharging, especially if you have a high-deductible plan (because you're on the hook for the charges before your deductible kicks in--your insurance company just approves them). You MUST find an honest physician to avoid being ripped off and always, always check… your bills. And, it goes without saying, avoid this practice at all costs.

Dr. Rieger is simply the best of the best. Will make you comfortable from the minute you meet him. His staff is top notch and professional. 7 Weeks post Laminectomy and walking 3 miles a day feeling better than I've felt in years. He will try everything to not perform surgery. Great conservative approach. Cannot say enough about this wonderful office. Dave C.

Did a great job on my back

I highly recommend Dr.Rieger for anyone suffering from sciatic nerve pain. I had a great experience, great staff, and easy to talk to. Dr. Rieger did an excellent job while I was under his care.

After a year over trying every conservative treatment available without success for a Neck injury related to a Motor Vehicle Accident I found my way to Dr. Rieger . He knew exactly what the problem was and what to do about it. I needed a surgical solution. I was very nervous about surgery. But, Dr. Rieger was very reassuring and easy to talk to and put my fears at ease. I have found him to be kind, compassionate , accessible, a great listener, non- judgmental, extremely skilled, and extremely knowledgable. He has good humor, patience, is trustworthy, answers all my questions .. ( I have a lot of them! ) He went above and beyond; to ensure my best surgical outcome . There’s a word for this kind of commitment, passion and skill…….. Outstanding ! I highly recommend him !

I was reaended in my car by another car traveling about 30 or 40 miles per hour, if I had to guess the speed by the feeling of the impact. My back was severely injured in this accident and I was recommended by several people to see Dr. Rigger. He has reviewed my X-rays and MRIs as well as extensive tests in his office. Dr. Rieger explaned exactly what my back did in response to the collision and explaned exactly what he is going to do in my upcoming surgery so well that I left his office with an incredible understanding of the procedure he is going to perfor and precisely what to expect. Dr. Rieger was VERY patient with all of the questions I asked him, which were many, about the procedure and I feel so at ease going into this operation. I will post another comment after my surgery and let you know how things went but, from all the patients I was able to talk to, I was amazed at the abundance of glowing reports from 100% of his post operation patients that was able to speak with. I… have seen Dr. Gerstman as well and he has given me a couple of steroid shots in area of my back that were in the most pain and I acctally look forward to my next one because they went so smoothly and were very effective. All of the staff at New Jersey Spine Center have been overwhelmingly patient with me and treated me so well with scheduling and making sure I was scheduled around my schedule. I highly recommend Dr.Rieger for anyone suffering from sciatic nerve pain. I had my own surgery done with him and was very pleased with the overall experience from the very first appointment until now. Between the office visits with his staff, the actual operation to the post op care he has provided me I can't decide which was the best. The office staff is wonderful and diligent,well educated and extremely helpful. Dr Rieger himself is an incredible physician that not only made my nerve pain go away but provided me with the best care possible while doing it. He has impeccable bedside manner and provided me with the confidence that everything would be OK despite the stressful and painful situation I was in. I am extremely happy with my overall experience and am so happy that I decided to go through this with Dr.Rieger by myside.
