Dr. Kurt Samuel Hensel, MD

I was admitted to Holmes Hospital with a broken ankle. Before surgery, Dr.Hensel introduced himself, gave a brief description of the procedure, and that was the first and last time I saw him. After surgery, his PA, who I also saw once, explained what was done; 4 screws and a plate. I was in the hospital 2 nights and only saw nurses thereafter. Nurses were fantastic! However 3 days later I had an appointment for a wound check. Again, no Dr. only the PA. who changed the bandages, one of which was leaking a clear liquid. He told me to exercise my ankle for the benefit of my achilles tendon. The next week, I returned home to Boston. There an orthopedic surgeon put me in a cast, said I had an infection, prescribed antibiotics, and told me to keep my foot still and higher than my heart as much as possible. Motion was my enemy and he was concerned about the infection spreading into my bone. I am now seeing this Dr, not a PA, every Monday until I am out of danger.

My visit with Dr. Hensel was awesome. The staff was friendly and professional. He provides adequate care. He is not a physician that is quick to rush into surgery, like most physicians I have seen in the past. He provided me with alternative options before rushing into surgery. I would recommend this doctor.

An outstanding experience from start to finish. The physician was prompt, courteous and friendly. He provided outstanding and detailed explanations of his findings, the x-rays, of treatment options and risks benefits alternatives. This is an outstanding physician and if you have a related problem you would be well served by seeing him. My highest recommendations.

Dr. Hensel is an incompetent, rude, egotistical doctor. He has no bed side manner at all. I will never use him again or refer him. STAY AWAY from this doctor!
