Dr. Lisan Shirley Peng, MD

Dr. Ping is very friendly. She prescribed topical meds for my rashes. But she was not thorough with my skin cancer screening. I have 2 lesions: one she completely missed which looks like squamous cell cancer; and the other she dismissed, even though it needed to be removed. Now I need to get a second opinion from a different dermatologist.....skin cancer runs in my family!!!

Dr. Peng is awesome. She actually takes the time to sit and talk with me each time I see her, rather than rushing through my appointment to get to the next one. As a result of her thoroughness, you might end up waiting a little longer, but I think it's worth it.

I was very displeased with Dr. Peng and will pay $$$$ to see someone that I trust. It can take months get an appointment. I hadn't seen a dermatologist, grew up in Arizona and had a family history of skin cancer. I felt very intimidated after my first visit after. I had spoke to her about concerning moles (asymmetrical and x5 growth). She refused to biopsy them on the initial visit with my history because she wasn't going to "exchange moles for scars". I went back a few months later after the moles continued to be concerning to me and had to break down and threaten to find a new doctor that could address my concerns. As in her words, she would biopsy my moles "so that I can sleep better". One week later I got my results (in lay mans terms- severely abnormal and trying to change into melanoma). Not once since my appoinent have I heard one word from her, received my non-descriptive diagnosis from a medical assistant, and wasn't able to talk to a MD until my appointment with the surgeon 3… weeks later. I work with doctors daily as an ICU RN and know much better professionalism and adequate. I will be finding a new dermatologist and many of my friends and colleagues have not been recommended to her.

I have had psoriasis for over 45 years. Dr. Peng found a simple workable solution for me that has been really effective.
