Dr. Marc Joel Guttman, DO

Sought out Dr Guttman to perform Urolift surgery I needed. Recommended as “ the guy” in this area to do Urolift by my Texas urologist and the Urolift reps. He has great interpersonal skills, answers all your questions and never rushes through your appt. I have been 10-20 minutes late to see him once ( out of 4 visits) but he also has spent over 20 minutes with me twice (pre and post surgery)to discuss my situation. I’ll wait a few extra minutes to see him for that kind of service.I highly recommend him .

Whenever you come to the office you wait 1 to 2 hours after the appt time scheduled. My last appt at 9 30 I have been waiting for over 2 hours and 10 min so far. The staff at the front desk is no help. I think it’s time to find a new urologist

This review is not intended to reflect the quality of care by Dr. Guttman, nor his PA. I believe both are of the highest quality in their profession. The front office is simply the worst. From their inability to schedule patients so they do not have to spend most of their day waiting to the lack of respect for following up on patient scheduling. To simply not being competent enough to do the simplest things with a smile. No call to tell me when my appointment was rescheduled for. No call or message the day or two before my scheduled appointment. and knowing Dr. Guttman was moving from his Goodlett Office where I make my appointments to find a sign saying "we moved call the office" easy enough if you do not have an 8 am appointment, as his office does not take calls until 8 am and his answering service had know idea where he moved to. You would think on the sign on the door of their old office might say where they moved to in addition to the office number to call. Quite simply the… worst run office, which is a shame because the doctor I believe is very good, caring and never in a rush when you see him. When is a big problem though.

I have been going to this office for eight years for prostrate problems. The wait times get worse every time I go. I became agitated at my last appointment after waiting for over one hour, and an employee told me that if I didn't go back into the waiting area she would call the police to have me escorted off the premises. There is no concern for the patients' time. I have sat in the over crowded waiting area for hours. Usually I make the earliest possible appointment (generally 8 to 8:15 am. NEVER have I been seen on time. I was told "This isn't McDonald's." when I complained about the wait time.

Been a patient of Dr. Guttman for four years. Always feels good to see him and have him as my Urologist. the problem is his scheduling and office is about the worst that I have experienced. Unless you are the first 2-3 patients during the day you will spend most of your day sitting in an overcrowded waiting room. They are notoriously overbooked and the office staff could care less if you sit there for hours. I have actually gotten up and walked out after 2 hours. Dr. Guttman is worth a wait but no one is worth waiting for the amount of time the office visit requires. To give you an insight as to Dr. Guttman, when I did walk out after 2 hours he personally called me in the evening to apologize. I believe he has no say in his office staff and that is why he puts up with it. Today when I left there was a line out the door to the reception desk as they had but one girl handling incoming and outgoing patients. For this I say Poor Office management.

Dr. Guttman is a great doctor. The problem is that he is an employee and the staff does not directly work for him. They are uninterested in their jobs and must not have anyone that they work for overseeing their day to day actions. Nothing gets done. Calls are not answered. Messages are not returned. Requests are not acknowledged. You must work around them to get care. They do not help you, or him, and I would find another practice.

Dr. Guttman provides excellent care. He has treated me for ED and prostate issues. He circumcised me with excellent results. He listens and explains everything thoroughly. I highly recommend him.

Arrived for 3:15 pm appt. at 2:45pm.2 other patients in waiting room. Filled out paperwork. Provided urine specimen. taken to exam room at 3;05 pm. Waited until 3:50 pm or his asst. to see me . At 4:20 pm, I opened door and asked his asst. if he would ever see me? She replied, " He will but a lot of people are ahead of you. I told her I was leaving. As I entered the waiting room to leave there were now about 20-25 people in it.Dr. Guttman needs a new practice manager who respects a patients time.
