Dr. Mary Elizabeth Lyster, MD

She's a really good doctor but she can't seem to stay with a practice more than a couple of years and her departures are abrupt and unexpected, not to mention disappointing. We've tried to follow her several times only to have her leave yet again. Can't recommend her based on that issue alone. Not sure why but will never try to again. You need to trust that your doctor will be there for you and sadly, she's just not.

Dr. Lyster has been terrific. She has helped me lower my A1C. Always helpful with various other ailments. Was so quick to respond when I had a terrible case of poison ivy. She explained about some of the misconceptions about poison ivy. She has been great. Love her.

I went with my husband to his first appointment with Dr. Lyster because he has been having a problem with nightmares and acting out his dreams to the point of becoming violent, falling out of bed, flailing arms and legs, etc. After listening to me for a couple of minutes she stood up, opened the door to the examining room & gestured for me to leave. Very unprofessional and rude. She never ordered or suggested a sleep study. She just ordered routine blood work and said come back in 6 months. We will be looking for another dr.

spent more time and listened better than any other doctor asked about my total health- diet, exercise, emotional , physical, family, job the absolute most complete physical I ever had let me now that was in charge of my health care

Even if she seems to listen to what you tell her, she does not seem to make any effort to use that information and come up with any diagnostic or advice. Ended the visit by asking me twice (like a salesman) if there was anything else she could help me with, after she pretty much did not even order any lab tests to diagnose my symptoms (abdominal pain and bloatedness and extreme fatigue), and instead she just said it must be from stress and I should see a psychiatrist for depression. Also, it was flu season when I saw her and she did not even suggest I get a vaccine. Good thing that one of the nurses asked me as I was getting out the door if I wanted one.

after 20 years of taking pain killers for muscle aches, Dr Lyster diagnosed me in one visit. Why, because she listened without having one hand on the prescription pad and the other on the door. I am now pain free, off narcotics and being followed by a specialist for a rare condition (myopathy.)

This doctor never spent one second trying to know me as a person. Treated me like a naughty child for taking prescription meds prescribed by her predecessor.I will not see her again.
