Dr. Robert Kevin Gildersleeve, MD

I've been seeing Dr. Gildersleeve for about 8 years. He is a caring professional with uncanny diagnostic skills. More than once he has picked up on problems my general practitioner has missed. In one instance that literally saved my life. He believes in patients having good information about their conditions and will provide resources if you want to learn more. I recommend him to anyone looking for superior care.

Every pelvic exam hes done on me hurt, and back when I was pregnant(13') he sent me home while I was bleeding and having some contractions. The next day blood clots fell out of me.

Missed diagnosing an ectopic pregnancy for over a week. When it was finally diagnosed, he did not adequately explain my options. And when the option we chose was not entirely successful, he refused to answer any questions or address any of my concerns, was incredibly insensitive in his language and manner, and refused to acknowledge that further action was needed in my case. Was much more concerned with being right than actually caring for his patient, whose life was at risk.

I will no longer continue to be a patient, I was treated with no respect and dismissed, not by the doctor, but the staff. I made an appointment for my annual but also wanted to discuss another issue. When making the appointment the receptionist informed me who to see, being this doctor is known for assisting in with my particular concern. I take a day off from work, get to my appointment , I sign in, I tell the receptionist I'm here for my annual and my concern, she tells me I am all set. I'm called a few minutes later to a room. The medical assistant in forms me I have only been booked for a half hour and no time for my annual and it would be up to the doctor if he has TIME will he. I informed her that I made the appointment for both and didn't want to take time off to come back when I'm here. I again was informed he only had a half hour. The staff and receptionists are clueless and rude, from today on, I will see another practice.

The story could be quite long.I'll make it short.I fell on ice in the driveway while pregnant. After spotting for few days I got an appointment at my OBGYN and chance made him the one on duty.The appointment was uneventful up to the point when he told me to bring my chart up to the front desk without ever sparing a look at me, forget about any examination. All I got is that pregnant women are clumsy.I protested right away with his bosses (which I knew since they had been my actual OBGYN for some time).At the delivery chance again wanted him on duty at the hospital no need to say I got a C-section, but that's not the end! My regular OBGYN told me fair and square that if had he been there I would not have had surgery, that it was not necessary. I'm not the suing kind and after a C-section you don't really have the energy or will to do that. After some time I realize that I really should have pursued my dissatisfaction. It's clear that he gave me a C-section on purpose, and at this point… it is too late for legal action, but not to warn others.Stay away!
