Dr. Robert Anthony Josey III, MD

Dr. Robert Josey is truly one of a kind. Beyond being an incredible surgeon, he is genuinely compassionate and takes the time to actually listen to his patients rather than being glued to a computer screen. If you are looking for a surgeon who combines elite skill with a great bedside manner, I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thank you, Dr. Josey for all of the years you have treated me, and healed me!! Hands Down, Best Surgeon In Town!!!

I’m extremely grateful that I was able to get in to see Dr. Josie almost immediately for my severe sciatic pain. He explained my situation thoroughly, spent time showing me on my MRI why I have the condition that I have, as well as thoroughly explaining the every treatment options. He is without a doubt “da MAN!”

Not off to a great start. I’m out hundreds of dollars and having to follow up multiple times on my own MRI results from a week ago. I even got the summary sent via imaging which I dont know how to interpret the severity. Leaving voicemails with no followup from Ortho specialists is not comforting.

Great experience with Dr. Josey. Very informative, provides his expertise clearly and listens before providing possible routes to take. Never felt rushed during appointments and everyone at the office has been a pleasure to work with.

Excellent surgeon! Dr. Josey performed a lumbar laminectomy on my back at L5-S1. He replaced the disc. It has been 3 months now and I feel great! I highly recommend Dr. Josey!

I have long term disc issues and stenosis - surgery twice - and consider Dr Josie to be an ASSET, more than just a capable healthcare provider. My surgical outcome was as advertised. Dr Josie is a good listener and always leaves room for questions and discussion. Likewise for his PA. I've had three back doctors in Austin, these guys are the best. If Tiger Woods lived in Austin he'd be going here. Good guy too.

I was seen by Dr. Joey’s assistant 3 wks ago with an open checkbook and severe need of reconstructive surgery for back and neck. 3 wks later no sense of urgency to get me scheduled. Thanks doc you’re a real a hole!!!!’

Dr. Josey assessed my sciatica in my left leg, specifically lumbar radiculopathy which gave me intense pain in my left hip and down my leg, made me limp and weakness in that foot. Dr. Josey reviewed my MRI, listened to my complaints, assessed my mobility and pain, then quickly diagnosed me with the cause being a broken off piece of my L4/L5 disc impinging on my nerve root, thus causing the lumbar radiculopathy and significant decrease in my quality of life. He scheduled a microdiscectomy within a week to remove the offending disc fragment and I had pain relief as soon as I woke up from surgery. I still had to recover from the incision pain in my lower back, but it was nothing compared to the pain and suffering I had before the surgery. Dr. Josey comes highly recommended by other doctors in the field. I had follow up visits and he referred me to physical therapy to increase my strength in that leg. My pain doctor told me if there was any doctor he would have spinal surgery, he would… choose Dr. Josey. I agree! C. Wise.

Dr. Josey came highly recommended. However, i don't feel that he spent much time with me. His PA, Carlos has been great. His nurse is slow to respond, doesn't answer all questions or concerns, etc. I feel that the overall care hasn't come close to the care they provided when seen by the person that spoke so highly of his office. I did find that there has been a change of nurses since then as well.
