Dr. Roberto C Polanco, MD

i am the owner of a Physical Therapy clinic and I am appalled at the treatment i received here. There is no waiting room for this office,, so prepare to sit in the lobby. . Apparently, the doctor shares the office with a plastic surgery center and his patient's are not afforded a real waiting area. My first visit my appointment time was 10am. After waiting nearly a hour, i asked how much longer. I was rudely told that i had at least a hour to go and that if i had a problem with it, i should find another doctor. I told the front desk lady that she was rude and I was once again told that if i wasn't happy, I should find another doctor. Under normal circumstances, i would have left, however, i was in extreme pain and had no choice. After waiting 3 hours, i saw the doctor. He was rude and dismissive. He interrupted me frequently and did not seem very interested in description of my situation. Previously, I had received relief from cortisone injections. I was told that a preauthorization… was required. I was given a appointment for july 27th but i was assured that if the authorization was received beforehand, they would contact me and see me. I was told that the preauthorization paperwork would be submitted the following Tuesday july 8. I contacted my insurance on july 14 and no authorization had been submitted. I contacted Polanco's office to find out what happened and I was told that they never had told me that. They told me that i had misheard them and that the report was going to be submitted to my PCP? This makes zero sense because i have a PPO and things dont have to go through my pcp. for those that dont know, if you have a HMO, everything goes through your pcp. If you have a ppo it does not. I attempted to explain this to the individual, however, she terminated the call. I have been in the medical field for over 30 years and have never encountered this time of disrespect and mistreatment. I am submitting a formal complaint to the department of medical quality assurance later today.

Dr. Polanco is more interested in how much your deductible is than what is wrong with you. The first thing he asked was how much was my deductible and since it was high deductible he never bother to filed a claim with my insurance company even though I called 5 times. He is the one that answer the phone. I also made a complaint with my insurance company. He sits in the back making collection calls while patients wait. The wait time is 2-3 hours. He claims that he opens early in the morning when he really opens at 2 and not every day. Terrible table matters.

4 days in the hospital for him to just tell me that he’ll only do the procedure in his office and I would have to leave the hospital and go to the his office, when I can’t even get out of bed from the strong back pain I have.

Wait time was unacceptable. Patients are waiting to be seen and Dr. Polanco is on the phone for 30 minutes chit-chatting. His staff acts like you are an inconvenience.

This doctor tells you different lies every visit, to cut your pain medication. I'm going to find one that's honest with his patients

So my first and yet only interaction with DR polanco was when I was transferred to kendell regional for burns I sustained. So they night I met him he walked in my room around 9:30 or so at night asked me about 4-5 questions like what I did for a living and a couple of dumb other ones. I the day before just got out of surgery for having excisions done to my left leg and right arm, I don't know if any of you have been through such an exroutiating surgery but let me tell you it's not fun. So what does DR polanco do? He immediately drops my pain medicine to less than a quater of what my surgeons prescribed me for pain. Also as for his follow up to see how it was working or in this case obviously not working their has yet to been one and were going on 6 days now. This DR in my opinion doesn't deserve to a work at a hospital espically the burn part of it yet alone be a DR! He doesn't listen or takes any input from his patients, he never to this point follows up espically in a timiley… manner, and who the heck comes and see's their patients at 9-10 at night?? This guys a joke and recommend if possible to stay as far away from him as possible!

Dr. Polanco is a great pain management professional. He has always treated my family with respect and it's obvious that he truly cares. I have a hard time believing he ever treated any patient any differently. He works long hours in his office and even longer in the hospital every day and often late into the night as well. After we moved 3 hours away we still considered coming back to continue seeing Dr. Polanco, it just became too long of a drive.

Dr has extremley limited knowledge of pain associated with osteoarthritis and Crohns disease.He lacked compassion.

Este es el mejor Dr. que he visitado en toda mi vida, preocupado por sus pasientes bueno y muy cortes no tengo palabras para agradeser este medico por su cuidado y espero por mi recuperacion y encontrar el diagnostico muchas gracias y dios lo bendiga siempre carinos Oni.

Dr. Polanco is a very professional doctor. He also has good manner and patience.
