Dr. Shalesh Kaushal, MD

This doctor and his practice are all about herding as many people through as possible and they have reached the limit of their competence. They are too busy to answer their own phones and the service they use either doesn't forward the calls or they just ignore them and never call you back. They failed to schedule a surgery and weren't available to address this for 3 days ahead of time, they were finally reached on the day of surgery and used some lame excuse about waiting for a "special" lens. It's funny how they love to use medical terminology all the time but have nothing better to describe this mysterious lens than "special". I'm sure they automatically process thousands of patients without incident but do you really want to be one of the ones that slip through their greedy fingers?

My husband had a procedure done last Friday for floaters on his left eye by Comprehensive Retina Specialist Consultants. Dr. Shalel Kaushal. Neither he nor the anesthesiologist bothered to read his paperwork, stating that he has prostate issues for which he takes two types of medication for. Anesthesia can really mess up a man who has prostate problems but they didn’t tell us this. Long story short, my hubby has been in a catheter now for a week, has an appt with a urologist on Monday. He had the procedure at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Everything went wrong except the eye procedure itself. First, they lost his hearing aid, which they TOLD him to wear in the operating room because they had to give him ‘commands’ throughout surgery. Took them two hours to find it, it flew across the room, was on the floor and nobody even noticed. Then, they let him LEAVE the hospital knowing that he was having trouble peeing. Third, nobody called to check on him that night at all. The doctor called… the next day after finding out that he went to the emergency room. I have reported this and they are doing a Peer Review. I just want warn ALL MEN who have prostate issues, avoid this place. This “doctor” is only interested in the money he makes. He sent me a nasty text claiming that there was nothing listed in his records that my husband had prostate problems. That is an outright lie, we even mentioned it to him that day. All his meds are listed on the hospital paperwork. He just didn’t read it. Dr. Kaushal was nice but not when something goes wrong, he is an outright jerk!!!! His office is RUDE too. A woman called two days ago to find out how he was, the call dropped and she never called back. I spoke with a second woman and when I explained to her what was going on, her response was “What do you want us to do about it???”

Dr Kaushel is an excellent practitioner. Extremely knowledgeable, willing to share that knowledge, never appears rushed even though you know there’s a waiting room full of patients. I have been very impressed with his practice including all of the office staff, Devon, the fellow at the main desk who I believe‘s name is Robin, and all the others that we have encountered. I truly feel blessed that we were able to find Dr. Kaushel and know that my husband‘s eyecare is in good hands

this doctor sucks

I was patient of this man for over two years when he was at magruder eye. Just saw him a week ago. He never mentioned leaving the practice to me. I was just referred to someone else. Very very unprofessional. Find someone else to see who cares about patients and doesn’t treat you like a number to help pay for his Mercedes payment.

Had an appointment with the doctor waited over an hour and finally when we told the staff member we were leaving we got to see the doctor or should I say got to set in another room one of the staff we're still trying for located on records and print out a report finally the doctor came in and when High questions about what the nurse said they was only able to do one eye he got upset and I was yelling at him and instead of giving us the results he asked us leave the room and when I asked for a copy of my test he refused to give them to me. I think he feels no one should question him or his staff. His office is very unorganized and they don't know how to keep appointments to they tell you one time and it's always an hour to two hours later before you get it this is the second time it happened with the appointment so we going to see another doctor that don't thank he is superior the everybody else. But good luck if you have to go to his office in Inverness Florida

I have seen a lot of eye doctors due to my diagnosis, but Dr. Kaushal is one of the most knowledgeable, as well as one of the most caring. He takes time to answer all my questions and genuinely cares about my treatment and outcome.

Dr. Kaushal is phenomenal. Would never see any other doctor.
