Dr. Stanley Vincent Deturris, MD

Dr. Deturris performed surgery to remove a section of my sigmoid colon due to volvulus (colon twisted closed). He was attentive to my requests, including those right up to going into surgery. His post op follow-up was pleasant and helped me understand the recovery process and my responsibilities.

I would no longer recommend Dr. Stanley Deturris. Must be having a Mid Life Crisis. His hippy hair do Not very becoming of a Doctor. He would not do a surgery on my wife until a $800 past due bill got paid. The bill was over nine years old, and his billing dept never mailed a statement. Very Unprofessional. Stay away from Surigical group of Gainesville .

Dr. DeTurris is a very caring surgeon that makes sure you know exactly what is going to happen. My surgical experience was excellent. His office staff went the extra mile with my insurance company

I was referred to stanley deturris by dr. enrique molina for a gallbladder surgical consultation as related to possible pancreatitis. deturris was 30 minutes late, allegedly due to an emergency over at the hospital with another patient. whether this issue affected his demeanor, or he simply lacks any kind of bedside manner or human manners, the second he stepped in the door the room was drained of any positive energy. he was cold, unkind, rude, disrespectful, and harsh. my gf and i were as nice as we could be while he completely annihilated common courtesy. he never smiled or asked me to do anything. he instructed that i sit on the bed..."sit on the bed". he talked to us as if we were children and left and returned to the room multiple times without explanation. ultimately he ordered additional tests, reluctantly wrote me a prescription, and went on his way to ruin someone else's day. my girlfriend actually broke down in tears after we left the building.

Would def use him and this facility again. Nothing to suggest. Best surgical experience ever.
