I have been seeing Dr Mardjectko for almost 20 years. Had 2 spinal fusions in last 10 years. I have seem Doctors for my scoliosis for 55 years and Dr Mardjectko is one of the best. No, he doesn't sit around making small talk, he's too busy for that. He is an excellent diagnostic Dr and Surgeon and has tremendous knowledge and experience. He has taken excellent care of me. You can lower the waiting time by making appointments as early in the day as possible.

Was referred by my family physician for disc problem in my low back . He ordered xrays without ever seeing me first . A young doctor/resident examined me ordered xrays and then the doctor came in. He was very rushed and didn't look at my husband and I while he was talking . He even checked his cell phone for messages while I was speaking to him ! Very distracted. Then he wanted to order an MRI except I brought my MRI with me from 4 weeks ago . No communication, ordered therapy even though I told him I just completed physical therapy. Young Office assistant brought me an order with another persons name on it . Needless to say I won't be coming back, very unsettling experience IBJI is not what it used to be

Brought my daughter in for appt scheduled at 9:10am. Didn't see Dr. Mardjetko until 10:15am, no acknowledgement of wait time. Ordered xrays twice on same day. Total time waiting for xray about 45 minutes. No explanation as to why so many xrays were ordered. When he finally saw us, he was hurried and appeared agitated. He even looked at his phone messages a few times we were in the exam room. My daughter needed a brace for scoliosis. He didn't want to discuss alternative options, just stated she didn't need surgery at this time and bracing was the best option and to bring xrays to the brace specialist. I received more information from the brace specialist who said he only needed one xray to make the brace not the additional xrays we had taken. I was concerned about xray exposure for my daughter. Basically was not impressed with his bedside manner and how quickly he is in and out of the room. May not return and get a referral for another pediatric spine doctor.

Dr Mardjetko is THE best ortho in Chicago. Yes it's hard to get in and yes the waiting times are high BUT he did a complete fusion on my daughters' back 5 years ago and we had excellent outcomes. Ignore the reviews about long waits etc. If you want the best he's well worth the wait.

Dr. Mardjetko is world class physician. He quickly diagnosed my issues for a 2 level spinal fusion and made it very clear the need to fix it quickly. He work with Dr. Bauer to make sure i got the best care during and after the procedure. He is a very busy doctor due to his experience and talent so you will have to wait a few extra minutes to see him however its worth the wait. He is very focused on the patient and the patients diagnosis for the limited time he gets to spend with the patients. Staff also very knowledgeable.

Very disappointed in the entire expererience at Ibji. From the moment I arrived with my daughter, I felt very unwelcomed and then hurried through my appointment with the doctor. Spent most of the 2 hours and 30 minutes waiting. 15 minutes in line to check in at the front desk. Rude and uninterested check in girl. Never even looked at me while she spoke. Waited one hour to get called into a room. Young lady asked me questions without identifying herself and wanted to order X-rays even though I brought in X-rays from last week . A resident then came in and quickly spoke to me about my daughter , left and stated the doctor needed different X-rays. Waited 30 minutes for X-rays. Doctor Mardjekto finally came in didn't apologize for the long wait . Spoke to the resident about my daughters xrays , was measuring X-rays and again barely spoke to me directly. Spent maybe 10 minutes total time with us as a new patient . Yawned a few times while reviewing X-rays . Apparently was bored with our… visit .Ordered tests and left. Another staff came in the room with orders and said we could get tests at Ibji. We live over an hour away, why would we Drive all the way back to IBJI for test we could have 5 minutes from our house? Wasn't told when to come back. Waited 10 minutes to check out! Whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth at IBJI . Hurdled in like cattle .

Dr Mardjetko is one of the best specialists I have ever seen! He is thorough, caring and compassionate. He performed a spinal fusion on me about 6 years ago and I just returned to see him due to an unrelated issue from a recent car accident. He remembered me right away. Sometimes you have to wait a while to see him but know that when it is your turn he will give you 100% of his attention and answer all questions that you have. I have recommended him to friends and family and all have had positive experiences.

I waited 5 weeks for an appt as a new patient. My appt was cancelled same day because he had an emergency. I was given an appt for 4 weeks and waited 2 hours to be seen, no apology for cancellation or waiting. Took multiple xrays waited another hour. Ordered MRIs and then I called 3 times to get results, was told he needed to review and to make another appt. He was very condescending and abrupt. Appeared very annoyed and agitated that I had many questions. He basically inferred that since I was not a surgical case , I had wasted his time. Whole experience left me unimpressed. I should have read reviews first. Will not be going back to follow up with him.

Dr. Mardjetko has been taking care of my child for many years. We came to him because of his expertise in diagnosing difficult spinal conditions. He is very knowledgable in spinal conditions and has been following our child and shows the utmost concern and his best interest at hand. We do not mind waiting for the expertise advice. As we have research Dr. Mardjetko we found that he is rated top 25 in the country for spinal surgery, teaches residents, educates nurses and healthcare staff and has been honored with many awards for his service to others. We recommend him highly even though he is busy. Worth the wait.
