Dr. Suryakanth R Gurudu, MD

I came to the Mayo Clinic with unusual symptoms thinking that Dr. Gurudu had multiple specialties and could answer my questions and help me find a diagnosis. He was listed as a specialist in gastroenterology, hepatology, internal medicine, and now I discover that he also claims to be an oncologist. He came on strong from the beginning and never let up. When I managed to get a word in he admitted that he was not a specialist in any area other than gastroenterology, and it took my husband being on the video call for him to even admit that. My local gastroenterologist dropped me flat when I applied to the Mayo Clinic. Now I am left with a two hour commute each way for treatments that I was getting locally. I can't help but think that I made a mistake signing up with the Mayo Clinic since I now have a 4 hour round trip commute and no diagnosis except the one I had going in. I should have stuck with Google.

He is smart and curteous. He spent enough time and explained my diagnosis. I am back to work and I am so happy with his care.
