Dr. Tamar Kessel, MD

Dr. Kessel places a lot of faith, bordering on hubris, in the injections she administers. Spinal pain is most often a complex problem. Injections do NOT work for all patients. After four spinal injections spanning over a six month period, I still had significant pain. At this point, I was told by Dr. Kessel to find a pain doctor. It was my understanding that SHE was a pain doctor. I was promptly dropped as a patient. She didn't even bother to connect me with a surgeon in the practice, which was clearly the next step. Long story short, this doctor holds herself in very high regard and if the patient doesn't respond the way she would like, you are basically made to feel as if it's your fault. Also, NEVER returns her own phone calls; nurse and P.A.'s are the only people you will ever get on the phone, even if it's imperative that you speak with a physician. Stay away!

Dr. Tamar Kessel is an excellent doctor, she listens, she is very careful to check things, running needed tests, she takes the time to explain things and goes the extra mile to try and help give relief to people with pain. I've seen her many times for chronic severe pain in the back and SI joints and I have finally got some kind of relief. It was so bad before despite the facts I'm only in my 40's the pain was so bad I couldn't stand it anymore with denerative disc disease at multiple levels, disc herniation, sacroilitis of the SI Joints, painful muscle spasms, osteoarthritis. I have found some much needed relief. I would highly recommend Dr. Kessel, she is a wonderful doctor who knows her stuff. For those who might need back surgery Dr. Kessel's co-worker Dr. Scott Simon at ONS, another nice doctor also has an excellent reputation.

Very caring, knowledgeable doctor! I would highly recommend Dr. Kessel to others looking for a great sports medicine doctor!
