Dr. Carlo Milani, MDMBA

Dr. Carlo Milani is an Attending Physiatrist at Hospital for Special Surgery in the Department of Physiatry. He is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is fellowship-trained in spine and sports medicine, which he completed at HSS. Dr. Milani's clinical practice focuses on non-operative treatment of acute sports injuries, musculoskeletal conditions, and spine disorders. His approach as a physiatrist is to work with patients to optimize function, return to an active lifestyle, help prevent future injury, and improve quality of life. The fundamental components of Dr. Milani's care include individualized education and guidance with a specific physical therapy prescription and/or personalized exercise plan. He is skilled in fluoroscopically …guided injections (spine, hip, shoulder) and ultrasound-guided injections (joint, tendon, bursa, nerve, muscle), including PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and hyaluronic acid (gel lubricant for joints), which may be appropriate for certain patients.
