Dr McGrath truly evaluated me as a person, rather than merely the information and x rays I brought for his review. He provided me with a gentle, thoughtful, and comprehensive exam. Dr McGrath is a great listener and worked with me to develop a comfortable plan of action. He is very responsive and thorough. The 39th Street HSS Brooklyn office is excellent, clean, spacious, and the receptionists are friendly and helpful. I truly appreciated his prompt responses via the HSS portal when I had additional questions. I highly recommend Dr. McGrath.

One of the worst encounters I’ve ever had. I am truly puzzled by these reviews. This physician was dismissive. He probably spent a total of five minutes with me. I basically cannot ask any questions. And when I did, he said, that’s not my field and that’s not my area when in fact, it’s close enough that he could’ve commented or recommended that I pursue another path parallel to this. Had he read any of my history, he might suspect that my condition is related to something much more complicated, serious, and life impacting. I do not trust anything that he did, or said, even though I did make my own diagnosis before I went in. I have a medical background, and my stepfather was a physician. They rush you in there like your cattle and of course I understand you can only deal with one body part at a time but when you have two important areas right next to each other, you may want to evaluate both because the overlap is right there, but it’s the policy of the hospital to have the doctor only… see one condition at a time, whereas I believed, and I confirmed with the person who made the appointment, that we could evaluate both bones that were right next to each other, because the pain was diffuse. The splint with which they fit me doesn’t even fit, and I am allowed too much free mobility to even probably healed and again, a proper history wasn’t taken, and I just wonder how he’s going to feel later when it’s probably more likely that this is related to something extremely serious… maybe he didn’t go to class that day? It’s disheartening and discouraging that there are people out there practicing medicine who treat their patients like they are an inconvenience.

Dr. Mcgrath took time with me and my husband. He listened well, explained my situation clearly, was patient with all my questions. I would not proceed with PRP injections if I did not feel his sense of caring and confidence.
