Dr. Thomas Duane Lenart, MD

I was disappointed with our experience at this appointment with Dr. Lenart. I understand that examining young children can be challenging, especially when eye drops or other procedures are involved, but I felt the provider made very little effort to create a child friendly or welcoming environment. The doctor’s bedside manner came across as dismissive and condescending, and I did not feel that my concerns as a parent were respected. After administering the eye drops, he left the room with very little explanation of what to expect or how long we would be waiting. He did put on a movie for my children, which was appreciated, but communication from him was lacking throughout the visit. When he returned for the final exam, the results and findings were not clearly explained to me. Much of what was said seemed to be dictated into notes, and I left the appointment feeling confused about my child’s condition and next steps. The only information I was able to understand from his commentary… to my children’s pediatrician was a brief comment regarding the bridge of my daughter’s nose as she grows. As a parent, I expect clear communication, professionalism, and a provider who helps both children and parents feel comfortable. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

As always, Dr Lenart got me in checked out and back with a new set of shades!

Dr. Lenart is very efficient and explains how to resolve the issue clearly. He can be very direct and answers all questions.
