Dr. Vijay Laxmi Misra, MD

Dr.Misra is a great caring GI doctor in Bloomington, IL. She found my irritable bowel syndrome sickness and prescribed me medication which cured it. Dr.Misra also did colonoscopy and biopsy to rule out cancer which was a painless procedure. Dr. Misra also referred me to a nurse practitioner in Columbus, Ohio where I was prescribed anti-depressants that made me feel a lot better mentally and emotionally. Dr.Misra is a great doctor and understands her patients well. I highly recommend.

Dr. Misra is the sweetest, most caring doctor with the best bed-side manner that I have seen in a very long time! She is soft spoken and made me feel very comfortable in her care. She took the time to talk with me before and after my procedure, and I never felt rushed. Her staff is also amazing! The nurses had me laughing all the way to the procedure room. I have never visited a doctor’s office that had all the qualities which made an uncomfortable procedure so relaxing and calm. I very much appreciate how Dr. Misra talks with me. We converse, have a dialog about what is going on within my body. She analyzes data about lab results and explains them for what they indicate and what they mean, especially why those results matter and how I can improve my health. In this way I appreciate her candor and thoughtfulness, including telling me what would happen if I did nothing or very little to improve my health. She also has a nice sense of humor and caring for me as a person.

I had been seeing Dr Koszyk but when he retired he told me that Dr Misra would be a great fit for me. He was so right. I was completely comfortable with her and I could talk with her about anything right away. It’s going to be good ?? having her taking care of me.

Her team is professional and made the whole endoscopy process extremely easy for me. I was nervous as I hardly go to a hospital with any issues. But they made me very comfortable all through the process. They followed up with text msgs and calls to ensure the after procedure issues(if any) I might be facing are addressed and were guiding to resolve the issues. Dr. Misra is a kind, compassionate and extremely competent physician. Your voice - as the patient - matters to her. She actually has a conversation with you about your health concerns and incorporates that information in her treatment plan. She remembers details about you (like your health conditions and those of your family members) without constantly referring to your medical record. I have a complex medical history and Dr. Misra has very successfully cared for me for many years.
