I was very pleased with the total knee replacement. I will soon scheduled my left knee. Dr. Smidt is a very skilled surgeon.

This was my 4th total joint replacement: both knees and both hips. Dr. Smidt has been remarkable every time. His team was great. I wouldn’t even consider another surgeon. Not only is he an excellent surgeon; he also cares.

Dr. Smidt was recommended by several of my coworkers and friends. He is a very skilled surgeon. I am very happy with the results of the surgeries he performed.

Dr Smidt was very friendly and approachable. He answered my questions. He also gave me an idea of what to expect during the next six months of my recovery. Which helps a lot. He is very professional as well. I would go to him again if I needed another surgery.

I hope they all lose their jobs and license Dr s m i d t operated on my knee 6 weeks later it cracked he operated on it the next day it should had been an emergency he was late getting there he took half of it out and pushed it up and cemented it he should have redid it other doctors say that my regular doctor said instead of me seeing numerous doctors I should see the doctor that did this he called there and he asked for Chris Nelson he could have called anybody there the secretary told him I am boycotted from dmos I was furious I called there and asked to see Dr Smidt I was just going to confront him because my knee is caving in and he never mentioned to me I have a fatal knee. Anyway I went there secretaries Melissa said I am not in the books they would call me tonight or tomorrow which they didn't the nurse came out and said Dr SM IDT said there's nothing they can do for my… knee I went to the Mayo clinic they said they could put it in a cast for 6 months and then another 3 months cast. He would not advise it to anybody it is usually fatal my life is bleak. I am super handicapped I cannot go down my driveway walk in my yard my husband lost his best friend for 52 years me I cannot do nothing for your own sake stay away. I could go on and on

I had a knee replacement and I mentioned to the nurse it was clicking oh it does that that. A week later it was an explosion spring flying I could not believe it was coming out of my knee the noise sound like rocks falling I almost fainted called my husband. Operated on a cross town. They were rude there the whole team's was there waiting for him of course he was late I think he is way too busy. He never told me nothing what he did was took out half of my kneecap and just shoved it up there really high and cemented it I have never been the same since. I could go on and on. And my regular doctor I said why are you seeing other surgeons go to the guy that did this. So I said he is mad at me and I am furious mentally and physically. So he called Craig Nelson and the secretaries called the office and said they will not take me so he told her to call me and she said the same and I just went okay. I don't know anything about the doctor or who he was with. Guess what he was with dmos and the… secretary said I can't believe it they boycotted you from dmos because the doctor Smidt is afraid you are going to sue him and he didn't want anybody to see my x-rays. And I found this out last spring because I actually even went there and it's a crazy long story this Melissa said it's all my fault I forgot to put you in the books. I will call you tonight or tomorrow secretary said the same thing no phone calls the nurse came out and said dr. Schmitt cannot do anything with your knee. My husband and I both said what my husband was Furious but he didn't do anything and he is a calm guy but he even said I almost went back there so like the next week I went to the Mayo Clinic and they said they could operate but it's all together nine months in a cast and usually it's fatal and then you know what happens amputee. My life is completely ruined I cannot walk up and down stairs I only go out to my d e c k because I can't walk. And my knee shocks me all the time. I can never have a good night sleep and my right leg is going bad now from me walking like a mummy. I do not drive I do not go in the yard you feel every bump. And I have fallen a few times and that's not good they say my knee is going out. What makes me mad he never told me any of this until this last spring. I think the register and Tribune should know about this. Every doctor in physical therapy cannot believe the way my knee is and I can't do physical therapy. I don't know how much I've have spent on doctors. I don't like doing this to him. But he hurt me he ruined me. I wouldn't go there I think he's overbooked.

He operated three years agoHe operated three years ago knee cap just fell apart just fell apart sounded like a construction sounded like a construction sound.. he just shoved it up there he just shoved it up there took half my took half my knee cap and and cemented it I have not been mobile for years I have not been mobile for years I'm now they say it's popping out so and now they say it's popping out so 3rd operation.

Please for your sake or your loved ones sake do not go there. He takes half of my knee cap out shoves it up there screws it in cement sit in and now my lower back and my foot went bad knee is bad right knee is bad now I limp like a mummy I seen 5 Dr the 5th doctor tell me did not go outside without a cane or inside without a cane I haven't driven in 2 years I was a very active girl now I am a old lady do not go there please for your own sake or Iowa City they were so rude to me when it became my second operation Melissa denied me drugs I was in the worst pain that's his assistant she said you can wait until we see you Monday that's 4 days without pain pills that I'm used to taking I get there I got the real cold shoulder and he decided no more pains either pills pain pills they wanted to get rid of me and they did because I got away from Unity and got another doctor a good doctor on Grand Avenue he is still prescribing me pain pills it's 2 years now I have had 5 doctors look at my… x-rays what he did to my knee they said if I don't have it operated on again I will have future problems the rest of my life so now it's Iowa City or Mayo Clinic. He took 40 years of my life. Please do not go sincerely. My whole body is messed up from the big lip and now I'm Shuffling feet and I'm so see you everywhere I haven't driven in 2 years either I'm scared to.
