went to Dr. Hotchkiss at The Carrell Clinic to get a second opinion for spine surgery. The doctor who provided my original diagnosis insisted that I needed the surgery as soon as soon as possible. Dr. Hotchkiss was more thorough in his evaluation of me and explained his reasoning why this surgery was indeed a necessity. He and his staff explained everything about my procedure and answered all questions patiently. My overnight stay at their hospital was pure excellence. Nurses and staff were accommodating and provided the best care I’ve ever received in a hospital. I just can’t say enough nice things about this facility and staff. Everyone is professional and courteous and wait time for office visits have been minimal. I highly recommend Dr. William R. Hotchkiss and the Carrell Clinic for your orthopedic procedures. I went to see Dr. Hotchkiss after exploring a few other non-surgical methods. He came highly recommended by Dr. Michels. I met with Dr. Hotchkiss and I was immediately impressed. I was in a fair amount of pain and didn’t want to wait for weeks to get an appointment. He made arrangements to fit me and. That first appointment was the first time I felt like I had a plan to get better. He took the time to listen, ask questions and see to really understand how he could help me. My procedure went as well as can be expected. I was up and around the same day and back to normal activities within a few weeks. People are continually surprised that I have ZERO pain after the surgery. All of the pre-surgery pain is gone...all of it. Everyone at the Carrell clinic has been helpful and friendly. I strongly recommend them and of course Dr. Hotchkiss. One other benefit of Dr. Hotchkiss, I never felt like a number. I had a lot of questions and he took the time to listen and answer all of… them. I went to Dr. Hotchkiss on the recommendation of my original spine doctor. He and my spine doctor had already discussed my situation on the phone. He was well prepared and thoroughly explained my diagnosis. I found him to be caring and kind and he gave us all the time we needed. The same is true of his staff. Before I saw Dr Hotchkiss have been trying to get my lower lumbar fix. Went to first surgeon that did part of the lumbar and didn't work and was suppose to get another surgery done by him but he in up canceling the surgery after months getting myself per pair. Stated that I didn't need surgery after all. I was on bone to bone from L2 to S1 so I was confuse about that. Second surgeon I went give me the run around after was told that he didn't like what my pain manager doctor stated that I was not eligible for spinal cord stimulation and want me to go to another pain manager doctor that he recommended and I informed that I will not go to another doctor for that and his PA called me and informed me that the doctor will not be helping me on my back. i have been in 7-24 pain for three years and had also lost my feeling in my right leg due to a back injection that went wrong on the doctor mistake. So my pain manager doctor recommended that I go see Dr Hotchkiss and I was very impress. He… went over my MRI and informed that I need surgery soon, He ask me what can he do for me and I told please take my pain away if possible. After my surgeries of having 360 fusion I got most of my feeling back in my right leg and not in wheel chair any more. I have not much pain in my lower lumbar and I thank God for bring this awesome man into my life . He is the best surgeon and I recommend him to anyone.
