Dr. Duff Andrew Rardin, MD

Today was my first visit with Dr. Rardin. I found him to be an excellent listener, very engaged, interested and thorough.

Staff was friendly and efficient . There was zero wait time. Dr. Rardin communicated his observations well, and answered my questions thoroughly .

I have been a patient of Dr. Rardin for several years. As a patient diagnosed in 2009 I went to Dr. Rardin for the availability of a close drive and because a neighbor suggest I try going for pain management at his office. I have never had such a difficult time with a doctor and staff. First, it was impossible to actually speak to the doctor by phone, his staff are well trained to funnel calls to an answering machine where you will reicive a call back within 24 to 72 hours if it is an emergency dial 911. Second, You get an appointment every 6 months if there is not any conflict with his schedule the week before your visit. Next, if you have a problem he has an office manager that will take you back for a discussion about it. This has been the most horrific experience I have had. I often had problems picking up my prescriptions, when I relapsed it took five days or more to get to the infusion center, and if you complain it is directed back to the patient as though they have caused… the problem. Finally, after having a relapse the last time, it took several days to get an infusion set up, after the infusion the pharmacy didn't have my taper because it was not called in. I dialed the emergency oncall nurse and went the following day to pick it up to find the wrong prescription ordered. I had to call and straighten all this out so I could just get the medicine. The following week I was on the way to my six month check up and got a voice mail that my appointment was cancelled as I was driving to the doctor. I had received a text the night before reminding me of my appointment. I decided to go on anyway since I had already been driving for thirty minutes. When I arrived the receptionist said Dr. Rardin was releasing me as his patient and my appointment was canceled. They did not offer assistance with refills on my meds or give me any alternative solutions. I lost my cool and said the "_ss" word, and they sent a certified letter not to return to the property. If you pick this doctor I hope you get better treatment, I sure wish I never had. I gave one star because you have to give one to make a comment.

Dr. Rardin wants to look at you, tell you what's wrong with you, and he doesn't want you to ask any questions. When I began having symptoms,I did a lot of research, wondering what it might be, and so when I went to see him, I told him that I thought it was MS. He told me it was not my job to come in there and tell him what I thought was wrong with me. He ordered an MRI, which showed small lesions, but he insisted these must be from my history of migraine. He basically accused me of being a hypochondriac, even though my mother was with me and told him that I was generally about the opposite of a hypochondriac, never wanting to see doctors. he said he wanted me to go and see a psychiatrist and get on an antidepressant. I went to a neurologist in South Carolina who specializes in MS, and was diagnosed with MS, 3 months after I saw Dr Rardin.

Have been going to this doctor for years, recently moved and still make the trip back for care. New primary care doc in town does not understand my conditions so hesitates to give me the dose of medication I need. I have come off all medications but this one (on my own) and have actually replaced all others with it. It works for all my conditions along with diet and yoga. Called my neurologist to get it from him instead of new Dr. His nurse put me on speaker and said Dr. Rardin said no. Didn't ask me any questions as to why or what, just made me feel like a druggie and that was it. If it had been one of the expensive drugs, would it have been different?? Finding a new neurologist..this is the second time Dr. Rardin has made me feel like an ant under his shoe, there won't be a third. If your neurologist doesn't understand your multiple sclerosis pain, who will?!

Whatever his qualifications are as a doctor are overshadowed by his inability to communicate clearly. He continuously talks "medical talk" and presumes that the patient will understand what he is saying. He continues to do so even after my asking for clarification. I left his office very confused and no more knowledgeable about my problem than I was before the appointment.

Okay this will be hard to rate because I only saw him once for maybe four minutes top.Explained to him or thought I did my problems. Sigh. My feet are numb and tingling and I did burn the bottom of one foot so was sent to see if I had nerve damage .Took three months to get a nerve reduction test. Nurse said I believe that I had some nerve damage but I don't understand really what is up haven't even talked to him. He is not good at what he does or how he treats patients I am so glad I read the reviews because most of the people did not have a high option of this man. I can see why. He will not talk. I would like to know from him Please find someone who cares listens and gets back to u PLEASE I still don't know anything about my condition I feel I will be in a wheelchair if this keeps up. He does not care

Dr. Rardin was condescending, dismissive and patronizing. To refill my medication took almost a month of phone tag, and when I went to pick it up, it was not correct. When I went back to pick it up, it was not ready as promised and I waited over an hour. Extremely disorganized. Does not answer simple questions or inform patient. I received an appointment for a test that I didn't know he'd even scheduled, much less what the test entailed. It was easy to schedule an appointment, perhaps because no one else wants to see him!

Excelent doctor

I was sent to Rardin, after my cat scan and two years of treatment , to have an MRI, my physician needed. Well Rardin said he thought it was my inner ear so he sent me to have that test done , I had the best score they ever had . my inner ear is perfect. When I go back thinking now he will give me the MRI. However No, he wants to treat me with the medicine my therapist gave me to gain weight . had me split it up and take it 3 times a day. I am in such bad shape I am not able to even drive or take a shower with out falling out of the shower. I am disabled as I am now , but still not good enough for him to give me an MRI. I will be looking for a more qualified and caring neurologist.
