Dr. Edith Sigmund Hickey, MD

Dr Hickey has been my primary doctor for many years. She has always been very caring, and knowledgeable. I stick with her because she really cares about people and she listens to my concerns. Many doctors really don’t care and they think they know what is best but she isn’t like that at all. She listens and then we talk about options and she gives me all the info I need to make my decision. She has always stood by me in my time of trouble and I really trust and appreciate her.

DR. hickey cared for my elderly mother, who was hospitalized three times in the last year. She had let my mothers health deteriorate, which in turn caused each hospitalization. This DR and the clinic she works for is about what they can bill, not patient care. Through the pharmacy, mom was renting an oxygen concentrator, at 36.$ a month, billing Medicaid over 200.$ , this machine costs them about 700.$. What a rip-off.

So, after an hour of waiting I'm called back -- with my name wrong -- & the office girl doesn't make eye contact or greet me, but stands fiddling with a computer screen & I'm left standing for several minutes. Then after weighing me, she turns her back & points to an exam room. When a professional staff has poor manners, it follows the professional is often not very, well, professional. I required ear drops. I knew that before I made the appointment. Just a prescription for ear drops. Great. Done. But at the drug store, they can't fill the RX because Dr Hickey has failed to put a dosage & instructions on my RX. Of course when the pharmacist phones, she's at lunch -- a drug rep lunch catered in, I observed while sitting in the freezing cold waiting room. For that long hour I waited. I will never go back! And I am still waiting ... A simple appointment took more than 2 hours, & I am still waiting outside the pharmacy writing this review. What if this had been… something more urgent, requiring immediate care & concerned attention?

The clinic itself isn't the best. The worst thing is the waiting time. Sometimes I am in within 10 minutes but I have waited for up to an hour to see her. They don't have the best office hours which can make it difficult to get ahold of them. Everything else is great. I love Dr. Hickey and her staff. They are always very nice to me and show they care. Dr. Hickey is always willing to answer any of my questions and is very thorough in her answers. She is a very enthusiastic woman who cares about her patients and their health. She always makes sure that I have a follow-up scheduled when needed. I also live about 3 hours away because of college and they have been very generous in accommodating me. I would recommend her.

Rudest Dr. I have ever seen,she has no manners,no class, dressed poorly for a Dr. ,and I wouldn't recomend her to anyone.
