Dr. Eduardo Dejesus Rodriguez, MD

If you are considering FFS with Eduardo Rodriguez at NYU - DON’T DO IT! He botched my face requiring me to need multiple revisions. My forehead contouring is asymmetrical with one side higher than the other, as noted by my revision surgeon. I need a revision brow lift because one brow is significantly lower than the other. Which I noticed immediately after surgery and like all bad doctors they blamed it on “swelling.” I need a revision rhinoplasty because I developed a polly beak formation and there is a loose bone fragment floating around in my radix, and the list goes on. I’m having all revisions done with another surgeon because Eduardo Rodriguez is an arrogant, dismissive, egotistical tyrant who will not take any of your questions or concerns into consideration. His office will refuse to show you any work he’s performed and they do not do computer imaging to show you a possible outcome of your procedures. He will also try to perform as many procedures as your insurance company will… allow him to bill. My advice is to never allow any surgeon to do more than 3 procedures at one time because they will not give each procedure the time and attention it needs. Not to mention the fact that each surgeon has their strengths and weaknesses. Meaning, just because a surgeon is known for performing a face transplant for FUNCTIONALITY doesn’t mean he can pull off an AESTHETICALLY pleasing rhinoplasty. You may need to see multiple doctors for each procedure they are best at doing for your transition. Don’t make the same mistake I did. RUN whenever you see or hear Eduardo Rodriguez’s name.

He claims 99% of his patients are satisfied. Which is a laughable joke! Just do a few google searches and read the bad reviews about his man as a Dr. There is a reason why there are no before & after photos of his work. RUN to a better trained, better reviewed surgeon with a much better reputation. This man is horrible and a waste of time. I’m puzzled as to why there is such a long wait for a consult for him. Must be a marketing ploy to create false hype. He is not worth it. RUN!

I found Dr. Rodriguez four years ago while researching someone who could correct a congenital facial/jaw deformity that gave me severe sleep apnea. I could not have found a kinder, more caring and skilled surgeon, and he followed me for six months after my extensive reconstruction. He cured the apnea and snoring completely and improved my quality of life overall. I see that today he has received the recognition he deserved all along (for the work that he did on the faces of wounded troops long before this face transplant made international headlines). I imagine it might take a *little* longer to get an appointment with him these days, but I suspect that he still treats each patient like his only patient. A brilliant and gifted man.

Dr. Rod is a caring, experienced, muti-faceted gift from God. He has performed cutting edge reconstructive work on myself that has totally changed my outlook on the future. Thanks again good Doctor, for you have made my life far better than I could have imagined, considering what you were presented at the beginning of my case.
