Dr. Eduardo Uchiyama, MD

My name is Rosa Gan and I wish to share my experience with Dr Eduardo Uchiyama. I was referred to Dr Uchiyama following a surgical complication during a cataract surgery. My left eye was blind filled with blood and lense material. The examination was thoroughly performed with impressive confidence and expertise. I knew immediately that this amazing surgeon is going to save my eye, and he did. He flushed my eye in the surgical center and today I can see to distance and read. An extremely caring doctor who is also quite knowledgeable. I was treated with respect and made to feel very calm about a very serious eye problem (due my my diabletes). I think he is amazing. I am a senior citizen and I am so appreciative of his kindness and intelligence.

After being diagnosed with uveitis this doctor was so reassuring and knowledgeable that I felt completely at ease. He monitored it very carefully until it was in remission. However he continues to see me regularly to be sure I do not have any new problems. He is very conscientious and caring. I am very reassured by his professionalism. I would highly recommend him to anybody!

When I suddenly lost my eyesight, I was recommended to see Dr Uchiyama even though his office is quite a distance from my home. I was immediately impressed how much he genuinely cared about me and my situation. He recommended a vitrectomy with laser surgery to correct my detached retina with vitreous hemorrhaging, and then did an awesome job! I now have 20/20 vision and cannot thank Dr Uchiyama enough for his excellent diagnostic and surgical skills, as well as his kindness and compassion. Dr. Uchiyama is special and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

After seeing flashes of light in my left eye I contacted Dr. Uchiyama’s office. The staff accommodated me immediately. The same day, Dr. Uchiyama thoroughly examined both eyes and found a retinal tear in my left eye which he immediately repaired. But the truly remarkable circumstance is that the doctor examined my right eye, which I had no concerns about, and found an abnormal freckle that he questioned. Dr. Uchiyama took photos of the right eye and sent them to his colleague who is a specialist in retinal oncology. The doctor’s suspicions were founded. I had melanoma in my right eye. Because of Dr. Uchiyama’s thoroughness, skill, and network of doctors, I was able to receive specialized radiation treatment that increases the likelihood of preserving my eyesight and reducing the time that cancer was left undiagnosed in my body. Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Uchiyama from myself and my entire family!

This is a long overdue review. Dr. Uchiyama manages my spouse Ken's condition. His dedication to helping others, his compassion and expertise is amazing! He takes his time, explains everything and truly cares about you. We could not ask for a more caring, considerate and knowledgeable physician. Thank you Dr. Uchiyama!

I feel Blessed to be in Dr. Uchiyama's care. I have a rare condition in both eyes that can rob you of your sight if you are not cared for by a very well educated physician. For those that have commented on the lack of "bedside manner" .........Go to the movies or turn your TV on. When you are being seen by Dr. Uchiyama, be aware that he is quiet because his purpose is to give you the gift of his history. He is sifting through his experience and teachings to keep you well. I have avoided doctors for the past several years. I was sent to Dr. Uchiyama with significant issues. His knowledge and professionalism gave me confidence in him but it was his complete kindness and care for me as a person that helped me not only with my eyesight but with the rest of my health as well. Arrogant Bad bedside manners

Dr Uchiyama is the BEST! He and his staff go out of their way to provide excellent care. After complications from cataract surgery, he was able to resolve my issues and restore my sight. Without his knowledge and expertise i may have lost my sight. Thank you Dr.
