Dr. Edward A. Athanasian, MD

Dr. Athanasian is outstanding. I first saw him in 2004 for a wrist injury from tennis and he was extremely thorough and accurate in his diagnosis and care. 15 years later I returned, even though my insurance is no longer accepted, because he has earned my trust as an exceptional doctor. He is respectful, kind and truly cares about his patients. And the office staff are extremely helpful and nice, especially Jacob.

I've had two procedures performed by Dr Athanasian and can only repeat what others have already said - kind, compassionate, quietly confident, conservative in approach and good at what he does. Also, I always have lots of questions, but I've never felt rushed.

I saw Dr. A a few times for bone tumors that I found from scans after breaks. He was conservative in assessing need for surgery, vigilant in requiring very frequent visits and more X-rays, and kind! I was excused after a few years and evidence of shrinking.. go no where else. You found the best.

Broke my wrist 12:30am. Called Dr. Athanasian 1:55am, received a call back at 2:03 am, and in his off at 10am. It’s been 5 weeks since my surgery and I feel amazing. I couldn’t ask for better results.

I recently had surgery for Dupuytrens on my left hand at HSS. Dr. Athanasian was my surgeon. I can not say enough about his professionalism and as they say, his bedside manner! From the first visit to the last I was confident I chose the right man for the job!! He took the time to answer any and all of my questions. Even minutes before surgery!! His talent in his profession is second to none. My surgery was perfect as was my healing. I am left handed and my hand is back to where it should be with full range of use!! If anyone is suffering from this pain in the...hand disease I would not hesitate to make the trip to NYC and request Dr Athanasian. On a personal note Doc, thanks can mean a lot. It does here. I originally went to Dr. Athanasian for what I thought was a cyst on my finger. When he said I needed surgery for a tumor, I almost passed out! I went for a second opinion and made the mistake of using the second doctor for the surgery. Years later, the tumors returned with a vengeance. When I returned to the surgeon I was told that it was nothing. When these bumps continued to grow, I decided to see Dr. Athanasian, and ended up having surgery with him for my giant cell tumors of the tendon sheath. What a difference! His bedside manner cannot be surpassed, and his staff was wonderful. He exudes a quiet confidence that makes you feel like are in the best "hands" possible. If you need a hand surgeon, he's the one to go to! Just the best!

Dr A than Asian is the Best Doctor you could find caring Wonderful Man treats you as if you are Family there is No Better. And his Nurse Roe is the Best What a team .
