Dr. Edward Michael Canham, MD

NOT at all happy with Dr. Canham or his staff! Went in for breathing trouble and automatically he said that I have asthma. I pleaded with him and told him that I DO NOT have asthma but he insisted that I have a bronchial provocation test. I even called to cancel and was berated by his staff. Did the test and guess what?!?!? I DON'T HAVE ASTHMA! I was also scheduled to have a Laryngoscopy after the provocation but he had to cancel because he was double booked....waste of time, money and resources! Go elsewhere. Still having breathing problems but haven't heard from the Dr., hospital or staff. Now what?!?!

I had a severe cough, that local doctors simply could not diagnosis. I finally decided to travel and went to Jewish and over the course of weeks (returning) saw several doctors, include Dr. Canham. There was no clear diagnosis. I was a mystery. Dr. Canham became my primary contact, and over the course of more than a year he finally got the cough under control. There were occasional reoccurrences, but Dr. Canham was always ready to consult over the phone, or schedule me in for an appointment a couple of days later (I had to travel). The cough has completely been gone about 2 years, and I aside from some minor things (e.g. daily saline rinses) I'm cured of this problem.As a side note, my sister-in-law, who lives in another state, had developed a bad cough (different underlying symptoms), and she suffered for a number of years (while going to very good hospitals) until I finally told her she had to go to Jewish. She went there, and within 2 weeks her cough was greatly reduced and within a… month gone for all practical purposes, where it remains that way. She did not see Dr. Canham, but another doctor. But I thought I'd just put in here that if you have a bad respiratory problem, don't dawdle around and suffer - just go to experts now.I will say that scheduling is typically way-out, so once you know the system you can get yourself regularly scheduled in and have long range follow up visits to check out to make sure that you're on the right track.
