Dr. Edward F Carlstrom, MD

Nurses are awesome. Especially the receptionist. Dr C and Dr Espinosa are both great! Would have gave all 5's, but last time was 1st weird visit in 3.5 years. After my urine screen the Dr who took the cup, and told me it was to clear, and to cold to be urine... After testing exactly the same over 30 times I just told him that it was in fact my urine, and that if I can have some water I'll go again if he wanted. He originally said I'd have to, and told me earlier would search my pockets for fake or synthetic pee this time. I told him thats fine and I'd even hand him my pants and he can even watch me pee if it made him feel better. After that I didnt see him again. The other Doc came in, and everything was fine and easy going like usual! I highly recommend this practice for many reasons. Accurate, make you comfortable, and even deal with my own mishaps in appt times and what not. Great place, and great people!

He is the most knowledgeable and the most caring Dr. that I have ever know along with complete professionalism.

I've been seeing Dr Carlstrom for several months now since a close friend recommended I see him for general medicine and am very pleased. His staff is always courteous and professional whether I need to reschedule an appointment due to my work schedule or walk-in without an appointment. I have not had to wait longer than 25 minutes and that was without an appointment. Dr Carlstrom is also very professional and courteous. He is always thorough in his interview process and I feel he is genuinely concerned about each of his patients. I am self-employed without health insurance but found his prices are average with other doctors in Sarasota. Definitely will continue to see him and refer friends and family to him as well.

The reason he got 2 stars for bedside manner is he patted me twice as he was leaving the room. He did the protocols to bill for an extended visit but his exam was extremely minimal, not requiring me to wear a gown, yet I had to put one on. When we sat down to talk, he didn't say anything for starters, but answered my question intelligently. Then he got up to leave without allowing time for me to address my other concern. It was a strange experience. He does not accept Medicare assignment and required payment but said they billed by Medicare prices, which I doubt from experience. The "extended" visit was overpriced in my opinion, and I don't expect to be reimbursed fully. This doctor marches to the beat of his own drum, but in an emergency I belive him to be competant. He charges $30 for a missed apppointment. He said I should come back in 3 days, but I could not see why. I felt like he was drumming up business.

Horrible experience. By the doctor and staff. Terrible manners by Carlstrom. Arrogant and lazy. Better off being in pain than going to see this joke. License should be revoked. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!!!

Horrible! Misdiagnosed my 75 year old mother because he did not listen and would not run the simple blood work to accurately treat her. Did not care that he did not give her appropriate care, said he was too busy and that if she was having problems she should just go to the ER. Distgusting treatment after having spent $75 to get help.
