Dr. Edward Scott Paxton JR.

Following a car accident and initially a MA patient I called UO where I had my Carpal tunnel repaired. I visited Dr. Paxton who recommended surgery, but respected my desire to exhaust all other options first. I heard so many stories from people that did not have Dr. Paxton but their shoulder was never right after surgery. After exhausting all options I agreed that if I were to ever sleep again, or regain the ability to use my left arm, and decrease the pain, I had to have surgery. Following the surgery I had some recovery complications, severe pain, start of frozen shoulder, edema, and still no sleep. Dr Paxton is a confident surgeon who is intrigued by solving a puzzle, and that is precisely the Dr you want to follow you through recovery to maximize your quality of life. After severe pain during PT and getting worse, Dr paxton created and regimen of exercises,stretches etc., making sure I did them all properly and a home PT plan was created. I began to get stronger, gain mobility,… and range of motion. Nicolet in his office is also excellent as well, relaying messages to him even on surgery days always returning a call with Dr Paxton's response or recommendation. I still had moderate to severe pain that was relentless. Dr Paxton diagnosed the problem but also verified that by having me see the specialists that could confirm it was my shoulder injury and not another issue. I was sceptical as he diagnosed me with tendinitis in my bicep tendon. After a second Dr. examining and agreeing with Dr Paxton's diagnoses I was treated for that. I told Dr Paxton I could make a commercial for his practice. I am a 56yr. old woman that had been physically declining since the accident. I feel Dr Paxton gets intrigued by a puzzle or complication, he does not settle but perseveres to solve the puzzle resulting in a better quality of life for his patients(me). My ultimate home PT was moving 11 Yards of Loam around my new yard with a garden cart. I not only shoveled it and carefully and properly pulled the cart over about an acre of land, but then spread it with a rake and reseeded those areas. I am happy to say my scars are minimum I can carry my grandson, I created a large garden this summer, paddle boarded, went quahogging, etc. He gave my life back, and was relentless to optimise the quality of life while minimizing the pain. I am still practicing home PT. I highly recommend Dr. Paxton. The U of O is the group to see I have had three physicians and I am 3 for 3 with successful results. Thank you Dr Paxton for allowing me to enjoy my grandsons in all activities. :) Oh and my lawn is also looking great.

Had surgery performed by Dr Paxton and could not have asked for a better surgeon, doctor or outcome. ZERO pain post surgery. Did my PT(ask for Dan) as required and received my release after just 7 months post surgery. ZERO pain throughout. Dr Paxton was very knowledgeable and very thorough . His concern for me as a person and patient was fantastic. Had some issues with my wrist swelling (surgery was rotator cuff and bicep tendon repair) and he saw me while wearing scrubs on what I think was surgery only day to figure out what was going on. My son had his shoulder surgery with Dr. Paxton. He was very patient in his explanations and very attentive to my sons needs and healing. So blessed to have had him for our surgeon!

He actually deserves ZERO STARS. Vey unprofessional and rude. I understand that everyone has a busy day or just a bad day. My family member saw him 2 times and was treated so poorly by Dr. Paxton both times. We both got the feeling we were being brushed off and he was looking for a way out instead of helping, probably due to the insurance. We have been brushed off and pushed out the door twice now with a severe injury and no plan in place for a remedy. What a shame! I call that negligence and incompetence. If you are looking for medical care due to an illness or injury DO NOT go to DR. PAXTON, he may or may not treat you based on your insurance even though it is accepted by his office. Shame on you Dr. Paxton!

Very professional able to explain distinctly.Was able to follow in layman terms .I did not feel overwhelmed or rushed answers questions and suggestions addressed to my issues.
