Dr. Edward K Swift, MD

Dr. Swift was my anesthesiologist for my IVF egg retrieval procedure. He was very rude and disrespectful. He opened the door with a, "how are y'all doing". Before even getting all the way into the room. Once he was inside the room, I asked if he said "y'all" He said, "Yes. There's usually someone else in here." When I explained to him that it is rude and unprofessional to make such assumptions; it implies that I am in someway "abnormal" for not having a husband in the room: he gaslights me and says, "I know what you're going through is hard. I went through this with my wife". He had an agressive hasty manner with me the rest of the time he was in the room, and when he left I could hear him speaking loudly in a nearby office, to staff--what I presume was about me. I plan to report his behavior, formally. If any other woman experiences a similar situation with this doctor, please review & report. There is never a right to shame and disrespect an "unaccompanied woman"--especially… by an anesthesiologist, before she is about to be sedated.
