Dr. Efrem Michael Cox, MD

Dr. Efrem Cox is everything you want in a surgeon that will perform surgery on you. He is very thorough in reviewing your symptoms and explaining your options. His bedside manner is fantastic, no condescension. He didn't suggest surgery immediately. Tried non invasive alternatives first, however they didn't work. We ended up having a minimally invasive procedure that resulted in the pain gone and the recovery, still in progress, seems to go very well. I highly recommend Dr. Cox and his assistant Maria who is always available for communicating with the doctor. Be it by phone, email or portal. Office personnel is also very friendly. I am blessed to have found Dr. Cox.

What I can say about Dr. Efrem Cox is that you’re treated like a person and not a number. My laminectomy was very complicated since the humongous tumor I had in the thoracic region was calcified and occupied 80% of my spinal column. He gave me all the possible effects of the surgery and reassured me that he was very reassuring. The surgery was a success! I can walk again, my balance is back and the pain in my back is gone. Thanks so much for being such a great doctor, Dr. Cox! I and your others patients definitely appreciate you.

I had a friend find this surgeon dr Efrem Cox saying he was the best n fixed everything in his back. I've been searching since my surgeon went on a sabbatical never returned 8 months after he put a cage n screws in my lower back. I was doing so good for 8 months then the pain slowly started coming back n it was heart breaking ?? I've been dealing with pain since I was brutally beaten n sexually assaulted at work by a client in 2008 I was only 23. 5 months b4 getting my rn degree. Workman's comp screwed me I feel if I was faking it I'd be taken care of paid off but instead I have been suffered and being screwed since then. Til 2017 when I had the surgery. 8 months later he went on that sabbatical never returning he was good surgeon I don't know why he left. So I've been searching for neurosurgeon to help me find out what was happening. Many dr would say I don't know why you're in pain nothing I can do after going all the way to Vegas or Henderson or tests that were unnecessary. Many… would say it's psychological or in my head or because I'm obese. I'm not obese. I'm thick but I can't go running or etc. I eat once a day as is being immobile isn't helpful. I do what I can I still try but having a dr say something so mean is effed up. Dr Efrem Cox sat down n talked with my husband n I explained my recent mri helped me understand what is going never once put me down. His bedside manner was phenomenally good. Had me walk around ran a couple movement tests n found out its my hips I have hips of 60 yr old. But even he said others should of caught it cuz my gait is off. Very understanding professional. I cannot stress this enough bedside manner is key n I would trust him in heart beat because he was so nice. So now to find orthopedic but so nice to have answers n not pushed aside again. Even told me to call him to follow up over my hips to make sure everything goes smoothly. I'll refer anyone to him. Very knowledgeable. Also his front desk Personnel the people over the phone very nice and professional too
