Dr. Elayne Karen Garber, MD

Dr. Garber took her time and really listened to me. She discovered I had been receiving treatment that was making my condition worse and she set a new course. So smart and kind, Dr. Garber is who we all need.

Dr Garber has been my doctor for bone density issues and arthritis for more than 15 years. I live out of CA now. I tried doctors close by and they could not begin to touch the quality of care, level of detail, and interest Dr Garber provides. Sometimes there is a long wait, but she is worth it.

I’m 80 years old woman with many health issues. Ms Garber displayed very poor bedside manners. She literally screamed at me that I wasn’t able to see her for a while, and that she will not be treating me under these circumstances! How is that for a doctor? Office lacks good hygiene, stuff doesn’t seam to know what they are doing. Over all cold, not compassionate and rude provider.

Dr. Garber helped diagnose and put my rheumatoid arthritis into remission. She is the most through and caring physician I have been to. I had just about given up before I sought her treatment. Without her, I was ready to die. XRays and labwork is done right in the office for the most accuracy.

Dr Garber is amazing and truly at the top of her field. She is an incredible doctor who leaves no stone unturned. However, her staff is inefficient, disorganized, and clueless.

The BEST! Having gone to the top Rheumatologists in the city and being mis-diagnosed, I found Dr. Garber and she diagnosed me as having RA, Ankylosing Spondilitis, Crest Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. She is a life saver for me...she hears me when I come in with so many complaints. I have 2 shoulder replacements and two new hips...and so many other worn out joints. I don't know what I would do without her.

She couldn't diagnose what was wrong with me after countless tests and xrays (on her own xray machine that she used on every part of my body except the one where the problem was located). She had no interest in my getting an MRI even though an MRI that another Dr later prescribed showed I had a herniated disc in my neck. I saw this woman so many times and she was always completely baffled as to what the cause of my ailment was, finally just telling me i had "arthritis" which happens to be what she specializes in. She will make you wait for over an hour to see her, and parking is virtually impossible and outrageously expensive in her building. I could go on. A terrible experience with her. It was such a waste of time probably 2 months out of my life, for something that was easily diagnosed by subsequent doctors.

She charges nearly 400 per visit. She only takes cash or check. The parking for her building is over twenty dollars and also only cash. She made me wait over an hour to be seen past my appointment time on my first visit and over an hour and forty five minutes past my appointment time when I went to see her a second time. After wasting hours of my life, she then told me I was wasting her time. She insulted my appearance and suggested I have cosmetic surgery. She suggested only medications (5 of them!) which are contra-indicated for my condition and which anyone with access to wikipedia could find out are contra-indicated. She suggested my illness was caused by promiscuity instead of the actual and very clear cause. She charged me hundreds of extra dollars running unneeded tests to try to come up with an alternate diagnosis than the actual cause of my illness. She told me the pain I was experiencing was in my head instead of being the very well documented symptom of the illness I… actually have. She was amazingly rude to the friend who had driven me to her office as I was unable to drive due to my illness. When I canceled my last appointment with her, she rebooked me without even consulting with me. Stay way from this person at all costs. And they are very high costs. She's completely incompetent and absolutely unbearable to deal with.
