Dr. Eleonor Tan Quan, MD

My father had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma and has been seeing his primary care oncologist for over 5 years. His primary oncologist had set treatment parameters for other Doctors to follow while he went on vacation. One of the Doctors I had the unfortunate pleasure to deal with was Eleonor. After only spending 20 minutes face to face with my father and me having to explain his history she refused to follow the treatment parameters set by my father's primary oncologist. After stating to her that we felt uncomfortable with her not following the plan in place by the primary oncologist, she ignored our concerns and proceeded to not follow parameters and not continue my father's treatment. The only thing I could do was complain to the head nurse of my father's primary oncologists, who changed Eleonor's orders, and my father recieved his treatment. I would implore people to seek another oncologist as Eleonor is rude and untrustworthy. A formal complaint was also submitted to… the hospital.

Dr. Quan was the initial physician for my partner that passed away from breast cancer. Upon completion of chemo treatments, Dr. Quan ordered no additional imaging. If she had, my partners brain mass would have been diagnosed much sooner. Terrible communication skills and poor bedside manner.

At first visit I was pleased with the doctor, she ordered blood tests and an additional CT Abdomen w/contrast; Second visit was to confirm the mass and to get further tests including a needle biopsy; being of good health in the past and never been in hospitals other than births, I was curious and concerned about the whole procedure. When I presented questions about the procedure, Dr Quan proceeded to say that "I asked too many questions and that she would send me to another doctor" horrified that a doctor would respond in such a manner, I chose not to return. What doctor does that???
