Dr. Elise M Hughes-Watkins, MD

I really like this doctor, but the office wait time is excruciating. She does not rush, which is wonderful once you get in to see her. Scheduling could be MUCH improved upon, or at least be honest about wait time when patients call ahead to see if she's on time..

This truly is a caring doctor. She is through and detailed. I have been in her practice for 8 years and she has yet to rush through an exam or questions. I am happy to finally find a doctor who is smart, funny and through.

I think she is a good physician, but unfortunately too busy. I scheduled an annual exam in January, for a first opening in October. I also needed to be seen for an urgent type of office visit, and had to see another physician in the office as she was too busy, and was misdiagnosed. Their office policy is to have you come in to review your lab results, etc, instead of via phone call or mail, even if the results are normal. They don't handle any questions over the phone, but again, require an office visit.

Dr. Hughes-Watkins is a good physician but horrible with time management. I waited over 2 hours when I had the flu and feel I exposed many patients to my flu bug. She took a lunch while 3 patients were waiting.

Recently I felt very ill and went to the office. I was seen by a nurse practictioner who wasn't able to diagnose what my problem was and sent me to the emergency room (thankfully). I was then admitted for three days during which time I called Dr. Hughes-Watkins several times to try and speak to her as I was concerned. I was informed by the receptionist that she was "too busy" to talk to me, I was to leave a message with the receptionist and then the doctor would respond via the receptionist. The hospital doctor told me this was appalling! My other doctor told me this was appalling. The only other time I went to this office for a full physical, my report of findings was also communicated via the receptionist. I guess that office's practice is not to communicate when you are no longer in the office, being seen and are therefore billable. If I wanted a doctor who was too busy to personally communicate with a patient who is hospitalized, I should have selected an "on-line" doctor… to manage my care!

wonderful MD. I feel like she really cares about me and my health, however it is VERY DIFFICULT to get an appointment, and then she is ALWAYS LATE. Her staff about 2 years ago was trustful and prompt. Now her staff seems to be always changing. Dr Hughes Watkins has been my health provider for the last five years. She is the first physician I consider as my health partner. She is exceptionally throrough and spends as much time with me as I need. My only disappointment is I did not find her sooner - she is truly a gift.

From the front office staff to the back room nurses everyone is indifferent and busy laughing with each other.As for doctor she was into her computer and had one foot out the door. She had no personality and really did not seem to care at all....and I waited over 4 months for my appointment. Looking else where.

but she's not taking anymore patients...
