Dr. Elise Hyun Shin, MD

I cannot recommend Dr. Elise Shin. My experience with her approach to care was deeply disappointing and left me feeling judged, invalidated, and unsupported. I found her approach to be lacking the empathy, curiosity, and nuance needed when working with patients navigating complex mental health concerns. A psychiatric provider should create space for understanding and exploration, especially when discussing trauma and vulnerable experiences. Instead, I felt my experiences were minimized and reduced rather than thoughtfully evaluated. If you are seeking care for PTSD, complex trauma, or other nuanced mental health concerns, I would strongly encourage you to find a provider with a more trauma-informed and compassionate approach.

Dr. Shin is the best! She actually listens and helps me. She helped me identify self-esteem issues and helped me set boundaries in my relationships. I'm finally happy!
