Dr. Elizabeth Anne Burke

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Burke. She was incredibly patient and took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me. Her wonderful bedside manner made me feel comfortable and confident in her care. I truly appreciate her professionalism and attention to detail. Highly recommend!

So far the overall results of my surgery seem reasonably good, but the ego of this doctor is insufferable. She is offended by simple reports of problems and even by clarifications. The night before my surgery, she put me in tears because she was flustered to the point of snapping at me because I had a legitimate question following a conversation with my surgical oncologist. This week, she tried to gaslight me when I had to report through the navigator nurse that a few of the sutures I am allergic to (which were causing significant pain and scarring and preventing proper compression as they broke down and spit away from the areolar line) had been left behind when she removed the rest. She pretended my concern went beyond the sutures and their effects on my healing and condescendingly lectured me about how it was going well. When I corrected her on what I had meant, she ignored it and brought in a manager to tell me to “trust her about my healing.” When I tried to gently bring this… and my actual intentions up to her at my appointment the manager helped me set up, she snapped and shut me down again. Absolutely unacceptable immature behavior that no patient should have to be a victim of, especially when already facing cancer.
