Dr. Ellen Kathleen Mcdonald, MD

Dr. McDonald is wonderful. She was my father's primary care physician for a number of years and he had nothing by the highest compliments for her. Sadly, he passed away recently, but in the last months of his life, she was incredibly attentive, very helpful and caring to my brother and I. She even stepped up without being asked to help coordinate his care among all his various physicians and caregivers, something which had been quite overwhelming to me before her generous offer. I will always be grateful to her for the wonderful treatment she gave my father and for the compassion and support she provided to my brother and I.

I have been with Dr Mcdonald for 2-3 years and at first couldn't have been happier. Listened well about an undiagnosed abdominal problem that I had- ordered lots of tests, meds, etc and then I think got tired of me and started blowing me off. Would issue prescriptions for other conditions and then berate me when I would need refills. Almost like she either forgot she gave them or was daring me to actually use the meds she prescribed. Not talking narcotics here,either. Very brusque and unsympathetic demeanor when I was going thru a personal tragedy. Don't know if she just took on too many patients but I am switching PMDs asap. Don't need the hassles from this one.

Always has time for patients, in the office on the phone etc.

My first meeting with Dr. McDonald was amazing. Her caring personality, her authenticity, and her kind, sincere demeanor were qualities I liked about her. She was sensitive about my missing thyroid (cancer) and ordered a blood test for me to be done in November. She was thorough and unhurried with me. (Such a rare quality in a doc today!) I appreciate her excellent office staff, as well as her patient website. Ellen McDonald is an exceptional doctor! I highly recommend her!

I am a breast cancer survivor recently moved to Pasadena. Had no doctor in the area and had a skin spot that needed to be addressed, so had to get into a primary care physician to get started. Dr. McDonald took the time to discuss my whole history gave me a thorough exam in addition to examining the skin spots. Never felt like I was rushed in and out. She gave me a comprehensive list of doctors she recommended for other specialties in the area. She also offered to be the primary point of contact for all my treatment going forward in Pasadena. Really appreciated her bedside manner, professionalism and responsiveness to me in a stressful situation. The staff was courteous and flexible when I messed up the date and time of the appointment. Kudos all around.

This doctor is not board cerified.

Dr. McDonald is one of the most caring and compassionate MD's I have ever met. She is also extremely competent and well informed. I highly recommend this MD to everyone.
