Hospitalist Dr.Emily Schley, called me in an obligatory manner, immediately began speaking of an old outdated directive used for a procedure in 2011; stating, "She didn’t see any information about tube feeding. "she was going to put a tube in my mother's nose, down the throat, to the stomach. When I disagreed with the method of tube feeding via the throat (my mother already has major throat issues) instead of the direct belly to stomach. Dr. Schley, “ I’ll call you back and hung the phone up on me.” By late day and several hours later, Dr. Schley had not… called and did not respond to my numerous calls to her. Late evening I requested a transfer to a hospital that could better meet my mother's needs. Dr. Schley immediately turned down my request to have my mother transferred, leaving the message with a nurse stating,” If she wants to transfer her (my mother) let her come to the hospital and sign her out”.
