Dr. Emily Yong, MD

I went in to check swelling on my face and skeptical that any doctor in the office would find time to take a look. As I was a walk in person without an appointment, I was surprised to see Dr. Yong make room to see me. I found the doc very thorough and listened to my history. She was concerned that the swelling which never happened before suddenly happening. I got an appointment quickly for a scan to check for other causes. She even made time to talk to me about possible diabetes and high cholesterol because I’m visibly overweight. She scheduled me for some tests that I’ve not done for five years. Great listener, patient and compassionate. I would send my family to her from now on.

It was my first time seeing Dr. Yong. She was incredible; a balm. Acted like I was the only patient even though the waiting room was filled to the max. She’s the most thorough doctor I’ve ever encountered. Not slow, extremely efficient and focused. She asked questions like she knew me. And somehow-- because of that, we arrived at an understanding, though it might not have been the “definite" root of my problem—(going on for a long time which other doctors had previously dismissed). I felt lighter when I left. I realize, even more so later, that what she said proved to be spot on. I’m glad there are doctors like Dr. Yong, who listen carefully, diagnose and still "healing" in this day & age of assembly-line medicine. Too bad she can't be my doctor, as she works only "urgent care."
