Dr. Enrique S Hanabergh, MD

I was pleased with my 1st procedure with Dr. Hanabergh. 360 degree lipo. I wasn't happy on my day of surgery. The anesthesiologist was over an hour late, he did NO pre-op assessment & he brought his little kid into the OR. He was distracted with the kid & everyone was speaking Spanish, I don't, all of which increased my nervousness. I wish someone had been speaking calming words to me but they were talking to each other in Spanish. All of them are Spanish-speaking and so are the majority of their patients, not African-American but ALL your patients are spending their hard-earned money on elective procedures. You should make them all feel comfortable. I did not but thankfully I healed well and was pleased with the results. A year later, I decided to have him do a breast lift & reduction with implants. I thought he was very personable & good at what he does or I wouldn't have returned. For the 2nd surgery, I had the same issue of rudeness with the staff all speaking Spanish. I did what I… was supposed to do post-op just like the 1st time but I had to message the doc the 1st day post op because I had a large blister forming around my left nipple & areola. I also noticed the breasts were different in size and location. He didn't respond right away via the app they use (I have copies of the messages) but when he did he apologized for the delay. That's when I learned that his wife had a baby via a SCHEDULED c-section that day, the day after my surgery & he was taking planned time off. He facetime'd me, looked at the area, and agreed about the blister but said the size and location issue would resolve in time. I cared for the blister as instructed. He also wanted me seen in the office the next day but he wouldn't be there. I'm sorry but its not like she had an unexpectedly premature birth. THAT'S understandable. Dr. H was just more concerned with making money than INFORMING his patients of planned days off so we would have the option to reschedule if we chose. That is what the standard of care and informed consent required of him. The next day, he had his receptionist meet me! Not a covering MD, which also would've been the standard of care but I'd already paid him so I no longer mattered. With all due respect to his receptionist, what exactly was she supposed to do? I went all the way to that office for her to say things looked fine & for the doc to FT me again! Ridiculous! Eventually I went to the office once he returned & showed him the areola on my left breast was almost gone & the size and location issue had not resolved. He said things would eventually even out. I have almost no areola on the left and it looks deformed. The nipple always hurts and blisters form all the time. I wore a DDD cup prior to surgery and I still do. I look deformed and u can tell when I'm fully dressed. (I can show anyone a picture if you PM me). Many months after the surgery after I'd given the breast time to "settle" and "even out" I went to see the doc. I was still hurting and couldn't stand anything to touch the left breast. I still can't. I'm beyond sad and depressed about how I look. He acted like it was no big deal and only said they were "significantly improved." Eventually I asked for all of my medical records. That's when he said, "Remember I told you this could happen." That is such a lie and he knows it. When I received my records and thoroughly read all of the paperwork I'd signed I realized there were all sorts of things listed that but we never had a discussion about that or about the areola coming off or my breast looking deformed or recurrent pain. I take responsibility for not reading every word of the paperwork but I won't take responsibility for him not discussing possible outcomes or for him not being available to me post-op which is why I'm still have issues and he knows it or he wouldn't have apologized. All of the pictures posted online are his best outcomes. Thats what anyone would post! Ask yourselves what happens if things don't go as planned. Read other reviews on various platforms. What type of doctor is he when things don't go well? When others say he stopped answering their calls, it's true. I have wrestled with saying anything against Dr. H which is why I haven't until now. But, I am STILL having problems and as I think about how little concern he showed for me (a two-time customer who also sent someone else to him!!) I had to speak. What sets good doctors apart from great ones isn't cost. How they treat their patients, especially when things don't go as planned means the world. At this point I've had to seek legal advice. Prior to doing that, I wrote the doctor a letter to see if we could avoid going this route, if he'd be willing to step up considering how I look but again, he never responded. Do your homework.

I had my breast lift with implants with Dr. Hanabergh. He was great very satisfied. However his staff at New Life is horrible. No class, No education, No English. Very embarrassing and a shame to see such a great Doctor being represented by such poor employees. But the doctor is Great! Would love to go back to him for a tummy tuck only thing that makes reconsider going back to him is his staff.

I was very impressed he called me to answer my questions that I had after the consultation. Fantastic explanation. Looking forward to my lipo!
