Dr. Enrique Slodownik, MD

Very satisfied - First time seeing this doctor - he was informative and made me feel very comfortable.

Doctor Slodownik has been my GI doc since 2005, when I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. He has seen me through many hospital stays, and a successful 2 year treatment of Remicade. He is extremely thorough, kind, and competent.

Dr. Slodownik encouraged me to ask questions and to send him emails with updates and my questions before appointments. In working with my GI issues, which do fit the 'normal' patterns, he listens to all of my concerns, explains things thoroughly & realistically, works with me to find solutions that balance with other health problems. He is not satisfied with 'half-answers' and thinks of all possibilities. His manner is direct, quiet, and no-nonsense. His staff are consistently friendly, helpful, competent, with great follow-through. It is helpful to send him emails with updates, questions, concerns prior to your appointments. He reads them and will be ready to discuss everything with you.

Without a doubt, this man has the worst bedside manner of any doctor I've ever encountered (most are genuinely compassionate). He actually said - in front of an entire hospital recovery ward - that it wasn't his job to have compassion, or to be empathetic.

Dr. Slodownik was my GE for several years when I lived in LA. He always had plenty of time for me, explained things thoroughly and made sure all my questions were answered. He worked with me get my Crohn's completely under control rather than be satisfied with partial improvement. Also, his office staff was consistently friendly, helpful, and competent.
