Dr. Eric John Anderson, MD

My blood pressure reading was dangerously low and I had a fever. He was very curt and abrupt when I arrived in the ER by ambulance. It was hard for me to concentrate-- I was dizzy and feeling faint...each response was terse when I asked questions. Even the EMT who brought me in called his tone "awkward". Not sure what he was so angry about. Only other interaction, later that evening: he handed me papers, which I didn't understand were discharge papers. He explained little about after- care or what I should do next in the ER. Nearly yelled at me when I asked for clarity....and then just told me to call my Primary Care Provider the next day. I sat for another 20 minutes or so with an empty IV bag until a nurse took out the needle and told me I could go home. Nurse said the doctor did not follow protocol and that is why I had to sit there waiting (and wondering what was going on). Very poor "bedside manner"; talks to patients with annoyance if they ask… questions and want to understand their condition. I will probably try another hospital other than Southern Hills after this--they are usually great, but this was my worst experience with a doctor in many years. When you are feeling sick and vulnerable, and you are afraid of passing out or going into shock, the last thing you need is a doctor who acts angry, disrespectful and apathetic. Health care is too expensive only to receive sub-par, unprofessional care.

My mom said she felt like there was fluid in her abdomen and was in a lot of pain. He ran tests and said he didn’t find anything worth looking into. In her discharge paperwork it said they did find fluid in her abdomen, and when we took her to a different hospital the next day, they admitted her and said on top of her cancer, this condition is life threatening if not treated. So thanks for trying to let her die.

I took my mom to Mountain View ER yesterday. She was seen in room ED 16. He told me over speaker but with my brother present in the room that there was nothing concerning that popped up in the scans or blood work and he couldn’t keep her there or admit her. I re-iterated that one of her big symptoms was she felt like she had a lot of fluid in her stomache and asked if that would be something that would’ve shown up on the CT scan? He responded that it would show up but that it hadn’t popped up in her scan. We took her to Centennial Hills Hospital the next morning because her pain and symptoms were worsening and she hadn’t been able to eat for 5 days. Centennial Hills did admit her. I found out that day looking through the discharge papers from Mountain View that this Dr. Eric J Anderson, MD did find a fluid in her abdomen around her organs and it’s a condition called Ascites. In the same discharge papers it says to seek help if symptoms worsen. Hmmm, we did. We went to the ER and we’re… not admitted. This condition is serious and needs medical attention to drain the fluid. I am beyond disbelief that this doctor told me he didn’t find any fluid and that the symptoms she had was unlikely being caused by this condition they found, Ascites. He should not be allowed to practice and treat ER patients this way. But given how insurances and hospitals operate. I’m sure he’s making them a lot of money by denying care.

I am honored to grade this Dr a F+! After coming in contact with him in Southern Hills ER, I was appalled at this man's ability to violate a patient and then try and cover it up. He was disrespectful, arrogant and most of all FAILED to follow a protocol for a very serious matter as brought in to the ER. This Dr has sow some terrible seeds, that will find him in his old age, if he lives long enough. If you come in contact with him in any ER, DO NOT ALL HIM TO TREAT you as it may cause serious harm or the lack thereof. Perhaps this Dr. thought that this incident was over, WELL IT IS NOT. Internet is a beautiful place to share one's experience and put one's REPUTATION in the public's eye so that others if damaged by this idiot will know that it was not them.
