Dr. Eric Benjamin, MD

Dr. Benjamin has assisted our family through some of our most difficult times throughout the past 23 years. He is always responsive, listens to our point of view as parents, and has a full understanding of how our son's brain works, and our son knows it! We are forever grateful.

I received treatment, myself, as a child 30 years ago and I cannot even begin to speak of the horrendous “treatment” I was given. As a parent now - I would NEVER take my children to him. I am shocked to see he is still in practice. If you are seeking help for a child with an eating disorder, or a child with extreme family issues - this is not the doctor for you. Please take my advice.

Dr. Benjamin has been my son's doctor for 16 years. He is an autistic adult now working part time in a thrift shop. As a child he had several strange behaviors, and through Dr. Benjamin's help he is functioning well above what we could ever expect. My son calls Dr. Benjamin, Dr. B and his office the B hive.

He is not a polite individual. He is matter of fact and can be crude. He has a holier than tho attitude.

Amazing. He nailed our son's diagnosis on the head. Compassionate, caring, and forthright.

COULDNT ASK FOR A BETTER DOCTOR

Worst doctor ever. He mis diagnosed my son as manic bi polar. Pumped all kinds of anti physc meds which none of them worked. He never once looked in my child's direction he only looked at me and in 5mins he said he's manic bi polar here put him on this. Several months went by and several meds he gave my son . I finally got tired and went somewhere else and 3 other doctors said my son is not anywhere near being manic bi polar he has autism spectrum. Never see this man he will ruin your child with meds they don't need . He never gradually steps you down off meds just stopped them and then you withdrawal from them . He did it several times to my son. Rotten doctor! !!!!!!!

Very smart doctor but very poor bedside manner. His mannerism appears that of a stone, cold heart. I would've walked out, but didn't because he is a smart doctor---for my child

After several previous physcians care my 9 year old son was hospitalized at PCH. Fortunately our pediaitrician referred us Dr. Benjamin. While hospitaled Dr. Benjamin stabilized him with a balance of meds. H I am hearfelt un my praise of Dr. Benjamin because he welcomed family participation and encouraged our efforts to understand and educate our family. He has a natural affinity with children and has always been available to us. My children and I have been guided throughout their school years navigating ways of school protocol.They like and respect Dr. Benjamin to this day and are grateful for his sincerity and wonderful care. I took my 8 year old son to Eric Benjamin. He was having anger issues. Mr. Benjamin put him on a medication and said he wanted to do a follow-up visit. Before the next appt. they said we needed to change it as he would be out of town. I asked for one after school. They said that wouldn't be possible, so I picked my son up an hour and a half before school was out, and arrived at the office 30 minutes early. He took another patient in during my son's appointment time. During the follow-up we discussed (or I thought were) any changes we saw after being on his medication. He diminished everything I said and then asked me why we there? I told him he had asked us to come back for a follow-up. I purposely refer to him as Mr. Benjamin, because he has anything but a bedside manner. He was arrogant, condenscending and abusive to me. I hardly uttered a word, because I was so perplexed as to why he was treating me so poorly. We went to him because a friend had worked with him at a… previous clinic. She raved about him. He even made that an issue. If you're looking for a great doctor for your child I highly recommend The Melmed Center. They have been wonderful. I have heard through various people that I am not the only one that had this experience. My friend who was a nurse at Phoenix Children's said he has a reputation for being abusive to nurses and women in general. She didn't even work in his unit.
