Erica Shackelford

It took me five years to write this review. Erika Shackelford, NP, grossly misdiagnosed my daughter, which ultimately led to a ruptured appendix. This was the first time she had seen my daughter, who was originally Dr. Boudreau's patient. During the examination, my daughter reacted with pain when NP Shackelford applied pressure to her right lower abdomen. I assume she was not aware that this is where the appendix is located. Towards the end of the visit, I mentioned my daughter's discomfort in that area, and she dismissively said, "Usually little kids don't know what they feel and talk about." She concluded the visit by blaming us, saying our daughter was not improving because we were not correctly administering pain and fever medication. She provided a chart of dosage/age for kids' pain relief medications and recommended we bring her back in a couple of days if she didn't improve. Her arrogance prevented her from recommending an Emergency Room visit, even as a precaution. Two days… later, we ended up taking our daughter to the ER ourselves, where it was confirmed that her appendix had ruptured. Erika Shackelford, your ignorance and arrogance make you unfit to treat any living being. You made us feel like bad parents and looked down on us as if you were God in that room. My wish for you is that when you need medical help, they treat you and your loved ones with the exact lack of care you showed us that day.
