Dr. Erik Edwin Alexander

Pt. Entered ER & hospital. Biopsy results were withheld by Dr. Alexander for 5 days, resulting in the delay of hospice & my husband suffering 24 hrs a day. A rm sitter was assigned to his rm until he moved to hospice. He entered on a Thursday night & died on Friday. Every dr tried to get the results upon him entering the ER.

Dr. Alexander very accurately and confidently knew what to do with my conditionand issues. It was refreshing!!!

Dr. seemed competent but was impossible to reach four weeks after surgery when symptoms recurred. Experience with staff very unpleasant. Communications system out of 19th century. Seem deliberately antagonistic and don't want to be disturbed by mere patients attitude..

Thanks to those (including my family doctor) whose positive reviews helped me choose this doctor. He performed a prostate biopsy. I found Dr. Alexander to be very skilled and professional. In addition, he is quite personable and takes time to explain and answer questions. If I ever needed surgery, I would definitely feel very comfortable with him doing my surgery.

Too hurried to listen to my whole history... I never even got to tell him why I was really there before he was off to next room...

One hand has no clue what other is doing. They made me schedule a 6 month follow up and had no clue why I was there. Rushed me into decisions. Surgeon dr. Woodruff didn't even allow me to ask questions about proceedures, etc. One appt. After surgery then you never hear from them again. Make you wait to long in waiting room and patient room then rush you out. Unfriendly front desk and errors on forms etc.

Best doctor I have ever visited

I called the Ironwood square office today to ask what the office visit fee was for a self-pay, new patient. She said "between $200 and $400". I said I just want to know the office visit portion of a self-pay, new patient exam, which would exclude any additional tests, etc. She then repeated "between $200 and $400". I then explained I didn't want the dollar range, I wanted to know the exact amount of a self-pay, new patient exam. I asked her what the range was based on so I could determine what I would pay. She refused to tell me. She just replied "because that is how it is set up - between $200 and $400". The tone of voice she was using was as if we were old enemies. She sounded extremely bothered and upset by my simple, reasonable question. I can't speak about the doctors here... I never made it that far. But I have to believe they are losing potential customers everyday if this type of behavior is the norm.

A patient for 10 years and couldn't be more satisfied with Dr. Alexanders care and treatment over that time. His manner with me as a patient instilled huge confidence in him as my surgeon. In my opinion, less than four stars in the promptness category is indicitive of a busy surgeon spending a little extra time communicating with his patients.

After biopsy was positive I scheduled the Robot and checked in for the surgery. All went well. The worst part for me was the catheter...very painful. Contienence returned right away after one week. No other remarkable pain or complications. It has been 3 weeks. Not tried to have sex yet. He asked me to wait 4 weeks. I am 64 and expect to return to work after 4 weeks and restart my sex life which was 2x week B4 the surgery. More about this later.
