Dr. Erik Alexander Hoy, MD

This was my first time having any type of plastic surgery and i was very picky. I was looking for someone in my area and came across Dr. Hoy. Setting up a consultation was a breeze. I underwent two procedures with him. First procedure was breast reduction, the initial consultation was thorough and Dr. Hoy explained everything clearly. My results are amazing I couldn't be any happier with my results it was not painful at all. Since my first experience with Dr. Hoy and his staff I decided to go back for my second surgery panniculectomy. Once again consultation and booking was easy. Two months now and I am happy with my results Dr. Hoy helped me get get my confidence back, I am very grateful for him. Th staff was friendly and supportive especially his MA Maricelis N. she was amazon!! from questions to paperwork getting filled out, she was on top of everything!. Highly Recommend!

I recently had a procedure done by Dr. Hoy. From pre-op to post he was patient, understanding, thorough and pleasant. Same with office staff. I have been reading the negative reviews and could not disagree with them more. I am very happy with the results of surgery and highly recommend Dr. Hoy

Dr Hoy is a class act doctor!!! I met him today and I knew that he was the one to perform my surgery. He is calming, explained things in depth, and took all the time I needed to be reassured of procedure. ??

THIS IS LONG- Story time- breast lift was scheduled for .buttt My surgery iwas cancelled by him (Dr.Hoy)?? I was told by Dr. HOY that he doesn't feel comfortable doing my boobs NOR WILL HE REVISE A SPOT HE messed UP because he thinks my surgery "expectations are not realistic " and because I was rude to staff when I said it was unprofessional to ask me to do a pre op VIRTUAL visit when it was supposed to be in person and they rescheduled me 3 times. When I told him that previously I have epilepsy, can't drive, and my husband would be taking half a day off work.. well I reminded him and he told me "that's not my problem" and much more. All last week the staff, they did was give me a hard time when I asked questions and the staff told me that's not their job. anything I asked was "It's not my job and I'm just doing my job. (Side note, My apt waS 1:15 , i was on time, they took patients that were later than me and I didn't see him till 2:30. BETCHA BUM it was on purpose) He says,, he… doesn't think anything was unprofessional. Now, the spot he fd up isn't visible to anyone and it's part of the scar and it's not horrible, and I wanted it fixed. And he had me also add a belly button revision so my boobs and revision could be done together because he admitted last time that he doesn't like how my belly button came out and he'd like to fix it...everyone else thinks it looks fine so maybe he wanted to just do it for himself. ANYWAYS HE USES OLD TECHNIQUES AND WAS RUDE WHEN I ASKED HIM QUESTIONS about other ones and why he chose the one he did for me, about the techniques, everything I asked, he just repeated himself. So, because I asked questions, my expectations aren't realistic? I had no idea what to expect since they had nothing for me to look at and I was only getting a lift.. and going off 2 pictures I previously saW and he did great. So, I asked him whaT his expectations were because that would help me . He just didn't answer, and kept telling me my expectations aren't realistic...I never told him my expectations. I asked him again, ok what are your expectations as my surgeon, give me some kind of idea? He kept repeating himself n then tells me find another surgeon. SO I GUESS HE HAS NO ANSWERS N I CAN'T ASK QUESTIONS cuz that means expectations aren't realistic? Well I think this was a sign that I should not have it done or not done by him. I prayed a lot this week for a sign UGHHH fix my booobs. I had a good experience with him for my tuck beside a part of the vertical scar and felt comfortable with him but now I'm understanding why he has a low rating...and this was a shorter version of my story.??

Originally I liked Dr. Hoy. His staff not so much. When I had complications after my implant surgery, (through no fault of my own) they were so quick to wash their hands of me. I had not quick smoking in enough time for my mastectomy/ expander implantation surgery, and ever since then, this was the underlying issue... For him. I did quit after that. And I take full responsibility for my actions. I eventually got the expanders in and then and implants placed. Less than a week later one breast was extremely inflamed, hot to the touch and obviously infected. I called, was advised to go to E.R. I did immediately (not know omg or being told what to expect. When I was told I would need at least 5 days of IV Antibiotics and implant removal I was crushed. I had a young daughter at home who had never been without me. I asked how long between rounds of antibiotics, -7hrs-. I asked to go home , get some of my things and tell my family and I would be back in 4 hrs. It was like I asked to get my… original breasts back. Everyone was irritated. I came back, was admitted and had his office call and yell at me to get back to hospital because I was sick. So insulting and judgements with no reason. The only bloodwork done on me ordered by Dr. Hoy was a nicotine test. Like smoking anything caused 2, yes 2 different bacteria’s... one in each breast, so I lost both again. All said and done at post op appointment, it was suggested I go see someone else. As a nurse, I’ve never been so all around offended by one office. Everyone’s experience is different, I just wanted to share mine.

Dr. Hoy did an amazing job on my recent breast argumentation. He made me feel very comfortable from start to finish. I couldn’t be happier with the results... we discussed exactly what I wanted and he gave me his professional opinion and together we came up with the exact look I was going for. Dr. Hoy made me feel very safe and confident in his ability as a surgeon. His staff and assistants were also extremely helpful and attentive the whole way through. Making this such an easy and smooth process. I highly recommend Dr. Hoy. He really changed my life as crazy as that sounds but I owe it all to him and I can’t thank him enough.

Dr. Hoy is such a great surgeon. He is kind and caring, he takes the time to listen to all of your fears and answer all of your questions. He is helping me through the toughest fight of my life. Daniella is the best too. She makes me feel so comfortable in such an uncomfortable place in my life b

When sorting breast cancer reconstruction explore beyond Dr. Erik Hoy. There is a doctor/patient fit for everyone but my consult was awkward and left me feeling insecure about his ability to rebuild my femininity respectfully. Found other RI plastic/cosmetic surgeons with double the years of experience with the reconstruction craft (sooo important!) and compassion for the complicated emotions of cancer reconstruction patients. Dr. Hoy's shared office space and staff were cold, and were dismissive since I was there to see a "plastic surgeon" and was tired after waiting almost an hour. (I was post lumpectomy and recommended for a mastectomy.) I left feeling icky and more emotionally bruised after my consult. He gladly shared all of the reconstruction data that he had (some technique turned out to be out dated which ultimately would have impacted my recovery/comfort), but he did not really listen to me or connect with me as a person, which was clear when he and his assistant stayed… in the room while I undressed to have my breasts evaluated. Awkward to say the least! The Women and Infants Breast Health Center should provide a full list of plastic surgeons with operating privileges at their hospital to their breast cancer patients -- not just promote those on their BHC staff!! You spend a lot of time with the cosmetic surgeon post a Mx so it is important that you feel safe and respected by this member of your BC team. For some, reconstruction is an element in healing their BC trauma, so be good to yourself and get a second opinion so you have peace of mind with your choice as you heal:-)

Doctor Hoy is an artist, magician or a good. I have always had large breasts which caused me pain with Fibromyalgia. I remember meeting him thinking what a compassionate young man. The nurses at W and I told me he was eye candy. That is true. The best thing was he listens to his patients. He gives you informed choices and what would look best on your body. I remember getting up going to the bathroom in tears. I have never seen my feet standing up and they were so much lighter. Dr Hoy, thank you for helping me live. I felt like I was just existing.
