Dr. Erin Gautier Doty, MD

She is the BEST all the way around. Very intelligent and on top of everything. She will be greatly missed in her move out of state, as my mom and husbands doctor but I must say that we will continue visits with her PA Meredith for as long as she is with the group. She Rocks as well!!!

Terrible bedside manner, never smiled or showed any compassion.

I'm 58 years old. I've suffered with chronic headaches for my entire adult life, since about age 20 or so. I've seen many, many doctors through the years. Through the 80s and 90s, they were condescending at best: "take some Tylenol and try to decrease your stress level". If Tylenol, or ANY over-the-counter medication worked, don't you think I'd already be using it and not be here, seeing you, searching for answers? My Grandmother and my Mother both suffered with classic migraine headaches; the aura, the nausea, the sensitivity to light. I don't have any of that. Through the early 2000s doctors started becoming a little bit more sympathetic, but even then it was a medication or two and then I was dismissed as a chronic complainer. I was finally referred by my last Neurologist to see Dr. Doty. I had a new glasses prescription and a brain CT in hand, and no physical reason for my headaches. Imagine my surprise when she surmised that I had been suffering for all these years with Atypical… Migraines. YES! There's a NAME and a REASON for all the years of pain and discomfort I've gone through (almost 40 years) and Dr. Doty and Meredith Hawthorne, PA, are determined to find an end to my pain by vigorously pursuing an individualized treatment plan for me. I've never been seen by a Neurology practice that cared about me at this PERSONAL LEVEL. I can say without a doubt that I know I am a person to Meredith when I come in here every 6 weeks. We're on to different medications, because the ones we started off on aren't working. She's encouraging and kind and uplifting, and I am so glad that I have found this practice. Mandy at the checkout desk is sweet and kind, and the ladies at the desk where I check in are always smiling and pleasant. I drive over an hour to get here, and it's well worth it to me. I am so thankful to have found this practice!

Primary treatment

I have been taking my mom here for many years and the office staff continues to be the only issue I have with this place which is sad. We only go twice a year and every time there is an issue. Thank goodness we don't have to go more often or I would likely be switching offices. We LOVE the PA Meredith and Dr. Doty is awesome also. They are both very caring and show empathy. The office staff is not considerate - especially since they are mainly dealing with elderly people all day one would THINK they would be more patient and kind. They are rude, rude on the phone, rude when checking out - they need customer service training or new people to work with their patients before they lose them.

I don't ever do online reviews, but I was so upset by the office staff at this practice that I felt compelled to do so. They need some sensitivity training, and should learn how to be empathetic and respectful to their 'customers' the patients. Also, they should hire someone to answer the darn phone! The scowling woman at the front desk is the worst. Some patients are quite ill, and should be treated kindly and respectfully. I am currently shopping for another doctor. Also, the doctor only sees patients for their initial visit. The PA is good, but it would be nice to be allowed to book an appointment with your actual doctor on occasion, especially for these types of medical issues.

It is not easy to get to speak to anyone there. It is a "leave-a-message" situation.

Very thorough and good. You will see a PA after the first visit. My only issue is that I rarely can get through to a real person on the phone line, it always rolls somewhere and a message has to be left for a callback in a ay or two, sometimes resulting in several rounds of phone tag.

Dr Doty is so caring with her patietns. She is kind and easy to talk to . I would recommend her to anyone.

Same as reviews below nothing has changed. Dr. Doty is by far the best neurologist my husband has seen for MS. But, the office staff is horrible. The last two years he is always scheduled to see the PA. Do not get me wrong she is wonderful but I think patients should see the PA every other visit not every visit. The office staff does not have the qualities it take to provide caring and understanding customer service patients need. All calls we make to this office are often tense and unpleasant I am always feeling like I have to be defensive. We are not bothersome unless an emergency has occur or change in insurance. The office mainly front end who answer phones and help people walking in need to be more passionate as all patients seeing a neurologist are already facing difficult health issues. Again the doctor is very good at what she does and during the apt you can tell she is very passionate and caring and is on point with what is going on. But, the office staff puts a negative… bearing on the office.
