Dr. Ernestine A Bustamante, MD

First, I was greeted by an uhelpful, unfriendly, unsmiling staff. After paperwork, I had to wait 40 minutes in the waiting room and even more time in the exam room even though I was the first appt in the morning. I saw Dr. Bustamante rush in at 7:59 am before my 8:00 am appt, but I still had to wait 40 minutes.. When Dr. Bustamante finally came into the exam room, she jumped right into the appt without introducing herself or making an effort to meet me, shake my hand or look me in the eye. She jumped into typing on her tablet while I talked. She never looked up. Then she had me lay down, threw me in the stirrups and, without warning, abruptly shoved the speculum in my lady parts. It was so abrupt, I felt violated! Then, again while typing, she pouted off her brainy knowledge about all kinds of slice & dice procedures. At this point I told her I was even more confused than when I came in. She finally looked me in the eye, then turned and started typing again and spouted off… the same facts she had already spouted off. She has it memorized! Then she left and the check-out desk threw a bunch of brochures for procedures at me...some procedures we didn't even talk about. It was all very frenzied and confusing. I tried to make an appt with another doctor in the practice, but the length of time you have to wait on the phone and the unfriendliness of the front office staff made me confident that this is NOT the practice for me!

I waited for this doctor for about 45 minutes, she came in the room slamming the door. Very unprofessional. She performed my colposcopy without explaining the procedure, advantages and disadvantages. She rushed and just shoved the speculum into my vagina without warning. Then she left me on the table with my legs wide open while the vinegar is dripping out of me. She did not give me any information on what to expect after the procedure and what activities I should avoid. I have to do my own research. I got up and fixed myself after 10 minutes since no one came in to inform me what to do next. That was awful, I got out of the room and asked the staff if the procedure was already done. Thats the time when I realized that I am okay to go home. I will never recommend this doctor to anyone, she does not know what ethics is. I will just wait for my result and will never ever go back to New Horizons Women's Care, no one deserves to be treated like this. All other review about her in this… site is true. She is the worst doctor I ever know.

Do NOT go to see this Doctor. She performed my hysterectomy but forgot to "finish" the procedure! After waking in recovery, hemorrhaging, all pages for her to come back to the hospital went unanswered and a second, emergency surgery was performed by a surgeon I had never seen, who just happened to be in the hospital and was willing to help! I required a blood transfusion due to the loss of blood but Dr. Bustamante never checked on me until the day I was released from the hospital, and she was beyond rude when she did. I have never gone back!!

She is generally a good doctor and kind, but the waiting time is just not acceptable. I waited over 1 hour in the room, and a total of 1 hour and 40 minutes after checking in (the appointment scheduled 8:50; seen by the nurse 9:30 and by the doctor 10:30). Most likely, I am never coming back to her and to New Horizon's women care again!

I will not go back to that practice ever because out of 9 doctors, who ever is on call is not worth it if you end up with her waiting to push when ready and then when she was ready she didn't even show up to help caused me major problems because of it.

My opinion of this doctor is low because of how unprofessional she is.
