Dr. Etsegenet Tefera Ayele, MD

I have never met a more unprofessional doctor. She charges you a copay and $35 to fill out one form with two signatures which she fills out in during the scheduled 15 minute interval she has with you. She is not personable, brusque and beyond rude. When I told her that I spoke to my insurance company and they told me that a doctor's office couldn't charge to fill out one form, she told me she would send me to collection. Over $35. In front of other people. I never met a doctor who would talk to a patient like that. She doesn't uphold the principles of being a doctor, nor does she deserve to treat patients with an attitude like that. I don't normally write reviews, but I hope this helps someone in the future. Do not pick this doctor to be a part of your healthcare team. She doesn't care about patients and it is very obvious why she went into the health care field in the first place.

Don't know why there are people complaining about the office and Dr. Ayele. She was so kind on my visit and the staff was very friendly as well. She listened intently to me and gave great medical advice. Am glad she is my Dr.

I took my mother to dr.Ayele's office for 1st time visit .her staff is friendly. Dr.Ayele has very good bed side manner, she took her time with my mother ,answered all our questions.very knowledgable .I found a good doctor for my mom

This doctor is mentally abusive, and should be stripped of her medical license. Avoid this doctor at all costs. I was assigned to her through my hmo, and it was my first visit with her as a follow up from going to the Emergency Room for heart palpitations and high blood pressure. I have a history of anemia, and I asked her for a referral to to my hematologist of a few years. She said no that has nothing to do with your ER visit. I asked again and explained to her that I have received IV iron treatments, and I was still under treatment. She then said in a screaming voice “I see you’re taking Abilify for depression, I don’t need mentally ill patients like you. You don’t need a hematologist, you need a psychiatrist. Get out of my office!!!”

I moved to California and changed health insurance and Dr. Ayele was assigned to me as my PCP through my HMO. I spent two nights in the hospital with kidney stones and was in severe pain. I was waiting to see a urologist for three weeks and I went to Dr. Ayele to request a referral for a lab test as well as to get pain medication for the kidney stones. She entered the examination room and said nothing to me except “can you uncross your legs?” I had been sitting in the chair cross-legged because I was in pain. I did, of course, assuming that it was because she needed both of my feet to be on the ground in order to take my blood pressure. After 15 minutes of asking questions about why I was there, I asked her why she wanted me to uncross my legs. She responded in a very old and cruel manner “I do not want to look at the soles of your shoes when I’m talking to you!” Shocked, I said nothing, although I should have asked why she wasn’t looking me in the eyes when talking to me. I left after… the appointment and was very upset by her bedside manner which was rude and abrupt. She also refused to give me any medication for the pain and stated “a 5 mm kidney stone shouldn’t give you that much pain.” I have two children and labor wasn’t as painful as my kidney stone, so she was very very wrong. She actually stated “I don’t know you and I have no proof that you have kidney stones.” In fact, I had actually given my hospital records to her staff from my last two ER visits a few days before. I recommend never seeing Dr. Ayele. She is unprofessional, rude, and should not be allowed to practice medicine because she has zero empathy.

Was able to obtain a routine appointment in a reasonable amount of time, wait in office was 15minutes. Physician listened, but does not perform pap smears and when I asked about receiving a flu vaccine was told by the office staff that they do not do that. (?) When I went to a pharmacy to obtain the routine vaccine I was told I had to pay for the injection but if it had been done in the office it was a totally covered benefit. I will be finding a new PCP that will do routine procedures in the office

she is one if the best female doctors in the world. she cares for her patients, and gives you what you need.

The office staff, they are incompetent. Paperwork lays idle somewhere and you have to keep after them. What a pain. The extent of doctoring is giving you a blood work slip and sending you on your way after listening disinterestly to your issue. The Dr. seems to have to care for her babies and the practice does not receive proper attention.

This is one of the best female internist physicians I have yet to find. She is very personable, spends time with you. I like that she has a non paper record so all of my information is there on her computer! Her office staff is very friendly and acknowledges my presence when signing in. I would recommend her to all my friends and family. She is the best!

Too long of a wait in exam room...an hour. She apologized. Her reason was because she spends alot of time with her patients....a good thing except waiting too long. Make your appt. the first she has. Also when I was out of town for my Mothers funeral and I forgot one of my meds and called the Doc's office to get at least 10 pills for my stay im Mps. No one ever called me back. She never got back to me on my blood work so I figured no news is good news. I was to have a Mamomgram and bone density tests as well but she never made them for me. So test never done. The follow up is horrible but I do like the Dr. So plan on doing your own foot work.
