Oh! This Doctor is FABULOUS!! He really cares about helping people. I seen him a few years ago & the whole staff was amazing! Check out the " STELLA CENTER" they are really great people.

He defines all of the worst parts of medicine. He is arrogant, rude, and just out to get money. If you're thinking about visiting him just be prepared for a hostile environment and a giant waste of money.

Extremely disappointing experience. He did not listen to me at all. It seemed like he just liked hearing himself talk. I observed him yelling at his nurses and causing confrontation with other doctors. Please avoid! There are plenty of other options for ketamine infusions or injections, do not support this man!

This comment is about Dr. Lipov's 'Chicago Block' or Stellate Ganglion Block. It costs $2k, and you do not need qualify to have it done. In my professional opinion, I think it is a money grab, here's why: For all other local anesthetic blocks, you first do a diagnostic block. If it is affective in relieving symptoms, then you perform either a series of blocks or a stronger block (ie neurolytic or with radiowaves/heat). Dr. Lipov claims that one block in the stellate ganglion will relieve symptoms of your PTSD. His website is full of clips of him on the TV Show 'The Doctors' whereby he uses his block to cure people with severe PTSD with just one block. Not only does the theory behind this not make sense (due to the reasons outlined above), there is no peer-reviewed literature showing that this works, except for a handful of isolated cases whereby he performed multiple blocks using multiple methods. In fact, there is a large double-blinded randomized study showing that there is actually… NO effect of the block on PTSD. Therefore, I believe that these people on the TV show are experiencing a placebo effect since they have been told by other professionals (well, semi-professionals- the MDs on the doctors are no longer in practice) that it is a miracle cure. Dr. Lipov is using the results from the show, as well as facebook groups run by his associates and other satisfied patients, to convince people that this will work for them. And let me be clear, the placebo effect is very real, but that is not what he is selling. He states that the block will reset your brain to a pre-trauma state, which is not backed by any scientific literature. He does have one publication in Medical Hypotheses about the theory behind the block, which is convincing unless you are familiar with the journal and the fact that it is not peer-reviewed (i.e. anyone can publish anything in it). People with PTSD are desperate for a cure- as they should- it is a horrendous disease. And Dr. Lipov takes advantage of that desperation by 1) performing this procedure on anyone who will pay him (no consult necessary), 2) taking the full fee (as insurance does not cover it), 3) not informing any of the patients about how little science is backing the procedure and 4) never mentioning that for long-lasting results, you will need a series of blocks, and even then it may not work.

Dr Lipov got myself, my daughter and her boyfriend all hooked on opioids. You'd go in for your visit and they'd ask how the pain is. If it was the same they'd write you a prescription for what you had. If it was worse they'd write you one for something stronger. You were in and out within a few minutes. No questions asked. I went there for about 8 years. At the end I was on 30 mg morphine every 12 hours. Luckily my boyfriend took it into his own hands and got me off all pain meds. Funny thing is once I was off them the pain went away. I can't believe the candy man(as we called him) is stll in business.

Doctor Lipov helped me recover from my hip pain that I suffered with for a year or two I saw him and he gave me Prolotherpy shots in my hip no other Doctor could figure it out the problem just gave me a wasted year going doctor to doctor now I have been pain free in my hip for 9 to 10 years and I dance Tahitian have been for years thank you Doctor Lipov this is a true story he is straightforward but the shots in my right hip were so great he changed my health and attitude all around wonderful even my family were relieved no more pain who can say that he was my answers I trusted him and I came out ahead.. Dr. Lipov is a compassionate and caring physician. He's one of the best doctors as it relates to pain management. I highly recommend his expertise.

Dr Lipov has resolved so many matters for me including anxiety with his stellate ganglion block and back issues with a lumbar block. His guidance and procedures are outstanding.

I've had several pain management procedures done by him at Illinois Advocate. He has a terrible bedside manner, extremely curt and unprofessional. He doesn't explain my options to me. I recently had an outpatient pain mgmt procedure done in the OR by him; he was 2.5 hours late for my procedure; he failed to discharge me after my procedure, so the anesthesiologist had to do the discharge. He didn't even come to check on me in the recovery room. I warn you of this doctor. I myself am a healthcare professional and I have never experienced anyone as unprofessional as him.

Dr.Lipov talked me into having a dorsal column stimulator installed in my spinal cord. I used to be able to work. I cannot work anymore nor walk anymore. When he screwed up my back and caused me more pain he told me never to come back to his practice. It has been nine years later and to this date I am still worse off than I was before I ever met that piece of garbage.
